3 fights in the last year and he stayed training throughout his layoff. If we're going back to 2012, then how far are we going to stretch this timeline? Kovalev fans want to dismiss the top comp Andre fought before saying it was too long ago, but we're going back to 2012 when discussing ring rust?

Nothing is ever ideal but the fact remains that he's been just as active as Kovalev in the last year and it's a bit odd that everyone's talking about a guy who just fought 3 times being rusty. There are much bigger challenges at play for Ward here.

He's probably going by the feminist definition wich implies a hierarchy of power and privilege for it to be valid. Ofcourse it's utter bull*****.

Ok, I'm saying he lost something in those prime years off or minimally fighting. Training doesn't compare to the real thing. We'll see on the 19th.

LOL..setting up race card. I can be prejudice but in no way can I be a racist, I don't have that much power. Next you are going to tell me there is a thing called 'reverse racism'..LMAO!!!

I am a Ward fan, and I can understand that some observers do not find his style all that appealing.....

..... he is very technical, clinical, methodical, without being flashy..... and a lot of the tactics he uses to spoil, smother, and frustrate his opponent tend to inhibit the other guy and often leads to less action.

Ward knows this...... as does Rigo, etc..... even Mayweather listened, and understood..... as proven by his choice to fight Cotto/MaidanaI flat-footed.

If Ward is fighting a popular puncher like Froch/Kovalev, most observers will find the result - and therefore Ward - "boring" because they did not get to enjoy watching their guy tee-off with careless abandon, as usual.

That is because, they are not watching the fight, they are watching their guy.

Me, I like watching a bomb-defusal expert at work, even if it tends to be a little quiet and explosion-free.

If Kovalev stops Ward, we will get to see some great offence..... if Ward handles Kovalev, we will have enjoyed some masterful control of distance/timing and some GREAT skills/ringIQ.

we win either way imho !

when it snows..... some stay inside, some go skiing

the skiiers should STFU and do their thing..... and the guys who stay inside should STFU and stay in their lane as well
