The better question is why being compared to Pavlik and Froch is such a bad thing. In there primes those are two fighters i think highly of. I dont think either are as good as Kovalev per se, but i dont think either are as good as Ward either. I dont see next to anyone demaning Kovalev tho. Ward gets crapped on on this site wayyyyyy more and its really not even close. The whining has to stop.

I just saw them fighters get tired with pressure & Frochs strong constitution & heart overcoming.
Froch was predictable & ponder-some. No shame in that as many great fighters are but don't make him out to be great adaptor in fights now too. He looked the exact same in the Kessler rematch as he did first time round. Difference was Kessler was further faded.
You just seem intent on giving Froch no credit for what he did in those fights. He didn't just plod ahead until they were tired and then have success.Last edited by bojangles1987; 10-06-2016, 02:14 PM.

I don't pretend I'm a Froch fan btw I'm jut speaking facts.
Froch is a more proven fighter than Kovalev and that's a fact nothing less.
But I know... the actual flavor of the month is always better than the old one... It's not your fault really, people just like that usually... tend to overvalue the less proven, undefeated fighters.
Let's see those Froch - Kovalev comparisons after the 19th of November. Maybe Kovalev will do better than Froch but I think he will do about the same (or at least not significantly better) which means winning 3-4 rounds top. Not because he would be a bad fighter, I just can't see him pulling out a plan B once Ward figures him out. Technically sound =/= creative and good improviser. He admittedly trains to one plan only, he admittedly doesn't watch tapes, etc... Against 90+% of the fighters in his weightclass that's enough for him, against Ward it won't be.
And I think Ward will figure him out after a few rounds.Last edited by HEND; 10-06-2016, 04:10 PM.

I was paraphrasing. It was years ago & i read many derogatory comments towards Froch even pre Taylor on boxing forums. Go find them yourself. I don't care if you think that rubbish! Now back to the post i supposedly ducked & to which you never responded to, just jumped in on another conversation. I'll remind you:
Go in the search bar and quote some of the comments, stop freestyling your agenda. This whole thread stinks of your agenda.
As I said before I'm the only person on NSB that made a thread about Froch being a better win than Kovalev.Last edited by REMOVE SHARK 55; 10-06-2016, 07:40 PM.

Froch is not a better win than Kovalev because Froch lost to Kessler. He arguably lost to Dirrell & looked far more beatable in numerous fights. Westermam, Taylor & Groves etc..
Now show me Kovalev getting schooled by a Groves or a Taylor or a Dirrell? Show me Kovalev getting bashed around by a Westerman or a Kessler? Show me Kovalev looking cluleless against boxers like Ward or Hopkins?
Show me AL these examples of Kovalev consistently struggling though-out his career? Show me Kovalev losing 25 rounds? Show me Kovalev losing 15 rounds to B/C level boxers like Westerman, Charles Adamu or Magee?
These leading up to Dirrell has comments suggesting Froch is a hype job, an embarrassment to British coaches, poor technically, a B level fighter & the worst boxer in the tournament who even Abraham would beat:

I can't even be arsed to find the pre Taylor ones or Ward ones. Go find the threads yourself (as i am sure there are some & we can look through them together & read how everyone back then really rated Froch & not a bad word was ever said about his technique or ability LOL)
