I think Ward will box from the outside and I think he will have a lot of success there.
Ward is the better boxer IMO.

I've thought about this one a lot. It's incredibly difficult to beat someone with a tactic that they specialize in. Ward is a true master of not only the body jab, but the trickier straight right to the body.
Andre's posture is such that it does not invite body jabs (pic below). I believe Barrera has success once or twice but Andre's fists are always in a position to throw and he's extremely quick for a 175lber. He also adapts to the opponent's gameplan quickly, which means that you usually can't get away with repeating one move against him for long. I don't see Kovalev putting a lot into the body jab for fear of getting countered, and also of falling into a trap. I do believe he will have some small degree of success with it though, mostly in setting up straight rights.

That's why i find it ironic you asked this question. Best way to avoid that punch is to stay at range. Either that or throw something up top when they go down there. In the war of jabs to the body, my money is on Ward. With Floyd retired, hes the best in the business at that punch.
