As a boxer ik for a fact thats hard to avoid, floyd himself doesn't block a body jab real well, but I have seen Ward do this combo were he throws a right to the body and than a jab to the head which sets off fighters, what's so hard about Ward to beat is his work rate is always higher than his opponent, if you aren't throwing at him he doesn't do anything, but when you try throwing combo's he starts out punching you

i dont think Ward wants to trade jabs,he will faith as i said or keep fight inside to avoid distance with Siergiej.

This is why NSB is crap right now, I ask a legit question and can't get a damn answer.

Good post,do you think Ward can keep fight inside and try to crack Kova chin,Kova is most dangerous in distance ,Ward wont trade Jabs with him IMO,Also some fighters dont block Jab to the body cus it make them open for another punches like right hook.

A jab to the body isn't about hurting your opponent, its isnt even really about scoring. It's about making your opponent reset and rethink. Its aimed at stopping your opponent from going in etc. Truth is between the two, Ward certainly has the better jab to the body, its fast, its pretty straight and it typically helps stand his opponents up. That's why i find it ironic you asked this question. Best way to avoid that punch is to stay at range. Either that or throw something up top when they go down there. In the war of jabs to the body, my money is on Ward. With Floyd retired, hes the best in the business at that punch.

You dont think Kovalev controls distance well enough? He takes a slight step back and makes his opponent over reach most of the time

Ward is probably the best inside fighter at the moment, if he can keep the fight on the inside its going to be an easy win for Ward and he might drop Kovalev 2-3 times, but if Kovalev keeps at a distance and land his straight right hand Ward won't see the 7th round, it just matters about who starts first we'll know who will win the fight by the first 3 rounds like we did in the Crawford-Postol fight
