GGG on one side of his mouth uses the collection of vacant, interim, and paper belts to make excuses for bad fights. Then fight Brook which served no purpose for belts and matter fact one of those precious paper belts WBA refused to even sanction it. Fact is Canelo Smith on paper is a better and more competitive fight then both wade and brook mismatches. Canelo is at least fighting a world champ universally on all top 10 rankings in Canelos weight class. Something neither wade and brook were. Wade an unknown bum on house arrest. Brook a WW who he dragged up to 160. If you didn't boycott those mismatches I don't want to hear you chumps begging everyone to boycott smith fight.

It rings hollow. Like pacman fans who screamed to boycott Mayweather fights while they had no problem buying pac fights against Floyd old opponents and lesser quality fighters. AND IM NOT EVEN A FAN OF FLOYD. But either boycott both or shut the phuk up especially when GGG consistently fighting worse opponents.

Canelo A-side ggg B-side

For those that think that Canelo is only making $3 million for this fight, you don't know the business side of boxing. He will make three times what little g made last week once the dust settles. GGG ducked ward and ducks Lara, so the same applies to little g.

Such a bunch of whiners AND TOTAL HYPOCRITES all these people saying "boycott, boycott" and calling Canelo a coward. May I please remind you, you bunch of biased GGG or anti-Canelo fans that:

1) YES, Canelo has been avoiding GGG BUT ONLY AT 160 pounds or above.

2) GGG himself has been avoiding Canelo at 154-155 and has NEVER EVER proposed a catch-weight of say 157 against a guy who has NEVER EVER fought above 155. Yet he and his loud-mouth trainer keep saying that GGG will fight ANYONE 154-168. Yeah, right, liars!

So they are both "cowards" under different circumstances.

Hey, bunch of hypocrites whining about boycotting Canelo until he fights GGG at the latter's convenient weight (160) why didn't you EVER ask to boycott your bully cowardly fighter when he bullied a blown-up welter weight who had to go up 13 pounds to face him? HYPOCRISY at its best, that's what you guys very accurately portray.

BTW I am equally a fan of both GGG and Canelo because they are aggressive fighters, and always give the fans good performances, so I will watch them even if they fight against opponents that really don't stand much of a chance vs. either of them, because I love boxing, period. I don't fixate myself foolishly into worshiping a particular fighter, even if he is a hypocrite who pretends to be willing to fight any one but the reality is: yes, anyone but with some restrictions (which in reality means being a liar, a hypocrite and a coward). True boxing fans never do that, EVER. We are willing to watch just about any professional fight because we love boxing, as opposed to loving to watch only CERTAIN fighters, and only when the fight conditions are advantageous for them, so they have way bigger chances of winning.

I'm having a lot of trouble reconciling these two statements.

Let me ask you; what do you believe is the purpose of a catch weight? I believe they exist to ensure a level playing field between two fighters of disparate weights and in this era of weight cutting and rehydration are largely unnecessary especially between two boxers whose fight night weight are practically identical. Do you disagree?

I believe the best fights should fight the best fighters at their best. Do you?

What do you believe is the reason that this match should have a catch weight?

I find, that implicit in the idea that Alvarez requires a catch weight is that Golovkin would be weakened by having to drop those extra pounds and I believe if people were truly honest with themselves then they would admit as such.

Simply put, if Golovkin is not weakened by Alvarez's possible catch weight demands then there are no need for this fight to have a catch weight if only to spare Alvarez from cutting so much weight.

Simply put, if the purpose of having a catch weight for this fight is not to weaken Golovkin, in which case I would very much like to know why it's necessary, then Alvarez will be in much better shape fighting at 160 then any catch weight below that.

And...? Wade wasn't on anyones top middleweight rankings who said anything about corrupt alphabet rankings that are paid for? I'm talking about 3rd party rankings RING, ESPN, BOXINGSCENE, BOXREC, ect. Nobody had that bum Wade ranked in their top 10. the fact the IBF mandated him number 1 despite this fact is corruption or any number of shady reasons. If GGG cares more about defending worthless titles that have no creditablity then actually making fights fans want to see then that's his problem. Many fighters have vacated belts rather then fight a unworthy opponent. Or moved up instead of fight unworthy opponent. Or requested an extension because you have a better fight on the table. Stop pretending GGG had no other option but to fight that bum wade.

Wade wasn't even a Champion. He wasn't the IBF #1 or even #2 ranked at the time.

You mean GGG wanted to fight for four 160 pound titled, one 160 pound lineal, and one 160 pound ring mag title to be fought for at 160 pounds. **** GGG for thinking if Canelo is a MW he should fight at 160.

And as for the never fighting at 160, K2 and GBP nogotiated an interim fight where Canelo was to fight at 160. Did he, no.

Instead he picked a glass jawed WW. If Canelo fighting a MW was the problem, why did he fight khan and then smith.

Canelo us too big for k2 to let him drain GGG. If Canelo just wanted to get ready for 160, he would have spent the time trying, yes not.
