Comments Thread For: "Fighting Words" - Golovkin Broke Brook's Face, But Not His Will

by David P. Greisman - On a night when Gennady Golovkin had once hoped to face another middleweight, one of the best challenges he's faced in years instead came from a welterweight. That's not to criticize Golovkin, but rather to credit Kell Brook. Brook deserves credit, not just for taking the fight with Golovkin but also for taking the fight to Golovkin...

GGG has officially sold out in London, LA and NY.

And they still won't fight him.

    He's on legendary status.

I don't think GGG gets enough credit, can anyone tell me why they hate him? He always wins by ko/tko and always comes forward, Stays humble and does his talking in the ring, what's not to like? Ali fought bums the mafia picked up off the street. And he's supposedly the goat.

The thing that's blowing my mind as I sift through the board is, if one didn't know any better -- by the reaction on this board they would think that GGG got beat from pillar to post yesterday.

And the dude TKO'd a 36-0 Kell Brook. And yes I know that he's a naturally smaller man. But it's still Kell Brook, who's a top tier A fighter who's saying post fight that he's better suited at 154 anyway.

Now yeah, no doubt GGG showed some major vulnerability, but at the end of the day the guy still ended the fight before it even officially hit the halfway point.

Even if the ref hadn't stopped it, he would've mauled Brook into the ground.

I think you must've mistaken Rocky Marciano for Ali. Do your research before you disparage Ali's name.

If brook was seeing 3 of him, then he was seeing 9 G's.

Done my research, ive seen enough of his fights, some of his opponents were bums, do your own research if you think all his fights were with legitimate boxers, actually watch them.Rigged fights, reminiscent of WWF superstars that aired in the early 80s, they were cannon fodder. Thrown in there to sell their superstar. Didn't mean to throw sand in your vag. Didn't even know you had one. This is not an attack on Ali, He had some great fights as well.

Hoping that GGG climb to the next weight class, have some guts to follow what Pac, Khan and Brook has done.
