lets hope ward v kovalev delivers...

now that the fight has been signed, lets hope for a positive event for boxing. UFC have just had their biggest fight deliver, bringing in lots more fans to the sport. Now its time for boxing to showcase its biggest event for a while.

Hopefully we get a fight free from clinches, fouls and headbutts. A fight in which both fighters throw heavy shots and combos.

Do people think this will be an exciting fight as im hoping, or could it be a stinker and turn fans away from the sport? On such a big stage, do both fighters have a responsibility to make this an exciting fight or is purely just about the win, even if that win is at the cost of turning people away from the sport? Discuss...

You don't want it to deliver. You want it to fail so you can laugh at Wards ppv numbers and be boring so you can laugh at wards style.

Or you're hoping that Ward abandons his defense to give him a better chance to lose.

You dudes are so predictable. It's actually kind of funny.

I like both guys but anytime Ward fights, the fight can be a bit of a bore. I think it will be a bit of a boring fight with a few big shots here and there but nothing like Porter-Thurman and i think Ward takes it by points. Don't think there will be much blood either

Since when did you become such a massive nerdy mongoloid?

          I missed that transition.

It's simple really, Ward win's a boring decision or Kovalev win's in an exciting fight.

          Fact.

im a true boxing fan, im hoping that for once a fight lives up to the hype. I also think boxing needs a big event to deliver and get more interest in the sport once again

yeah, i know ward is a boring fighter usually but this is a big event and an opportunity for him to win some fans too, im hoping he fights a bit more positively than normal.

all i want is that he keeps the fight clean, and that he doesnt look to spoil the fight. Not expecting him to fight like marcos maidana, but with such an audience watching im hoping he tries to entertain aswell.

True but i don't think Ward cares if he has fans or not. There will always be people that like his defensive style so he will have fans regardless. I just don't think he is ****** enough to get into a street fight with Kovalev. I think he just picks him off round by round.

We all want action but fighters are trying not to get hurt and Ward doesn't street fight
