As far as pounding the body, OK? We're not talking about Kovalev. Golovkin went two 12 rounders against Canelo and took hundred of body shots without flinching.

Sucks at fighting off the back foot and not mobile? Based on what, the forum trolls? The first time he boxed off the backfoot was against Canelo2, and he did very well. As far as mobility, he boxed beautifully in the amateurs and early in his career, and he boxed beautifully when he had to in the pros. Go watch the beatdown of Lemieux.

Lastly.. stopped within 5 rounds? What in the bloody hell are you smoking? If you discount the Nut******* fight, Ward has stopped exactly one person in the last 5 years, and that was Paul Smith. He never came close to hurting Brand, who was a 40 yr old bum. Pillowfisted Ward against universally acclaimed durability of Golovkin, and Golovkin gets stopped in 5? What a joke.
So basically, GGG is a good fighter, and a good boxer......OK, he wouldn't have beat 168 Ward, and we both know this.

I dont think he ever ducked Ward but I think the SOG would’ve been too much even to a prime GGG imo.

Since 2012 people and industry were talking about Ward vs GGG as the matchup many were interested about. This is all fact. It was up until 2016 that this scenario sailed off. That was a good 4 year run. It was constant talk because they were P4P top and the best of their divisions. Meanwhile Canelo since Mosley, this narrative wasn’t talked about.

GGG fans created this idea that Canelo was always bigger than Golovkin and therefore this was the matchup they wanted to see so to void the Ward vs GGG narrative.

Meanwhile, 154-168 was “easy” dates back to 2011 from ESNews where Sechback asked Gennady in a restaurant near side Abel where the Kazakh said 154-168 was easy.

So let’s approach why GGG was harshly criticized. For a narrative that “nobody wanted” to fight GGG in these years, why didn’t Abel and Loeffler seek the “best” at 154? Hopkins wanted a big fight with DLH for a payday. They could’ve at least made the usual noise to stir fights gossip and see where it goes. So from 2011-2014 which names did Team GGG want or publicize with the help of industry affiliates, whom at 154 or 168? remember, they said 154-168 was easy.

So the context would mean, if nobody wants to fight you at your own division, why not concede to offers and gossip at different weights? So nobody wants GGG at 160, but whenever people suggest a different class they say those fights don’t bring any money. Therefore GGG’s fan base and career was counter productive. If there is no risk at 168 or 154 then YOU GAIN BY BEATING others at a different class than to stay at 160 and just wait for whoever. Thing is seeing the pattern of Loeffler and Abel’s character and back by HBO these guys offered less money and if whenever they didn’t like a “threat” with splits (call it greed) they chose not to fight others. They initially were to fight Andy Lee which got cancelled. Then a couple years later Lee gets the WBO and yet no noise from Team GGG. That doesn’t make any damn sense.

So when we think about Andre Ward who fought heavy handed wackos like Miranda, which Pavlik said is heavier handed than GGG, to Abraham and Froch, all these fighters who spar guys bigger than them too, I don’t see Andre Ward ever being afraid of Golovkin. MAYBE some insecurities about the scorecards if anything meaning the styles, but as far as getting hit I don’t think Ward ever feared the smaller GGG at 168. At least not in the sense of going against Kovalev.

No offense but I thought GGG only wants “big drama show” he keeps spouting that “big drama show” nonsense after every fight and the excuse he given that time was he didn’t want to fight ward because he wants to unify all the belts at MW. Is GGG a man of his word and he unified all the belts ? No. He chose to fight Vanes and get stripped because he didn’t want to risk losing the Canelo money and he is not confident of beating Derevychenko despite Sergiy willing to fight him at a month’s notice.

            A 160lber ducking a 168lber?

It's a shame Ward fans still hang on to this story because they are talking about a smaller fighter.

A 5'10 middleweight when current jr. Middleweight champs are 6'1", 6'2".

BTW, what happened to Ward winning a HW belt. Too bad they passed on Usyk for a potential cruiserweight belt.

Not sure what's unclear. Just like I said in the first reply to you - no we do not. I, along with many fans and the fighter themselves will tell you he would beat Ward. You can call yourself a 'huge Golovkin fan' all you want, but you sound like a Ward fan and a Golovkin hater. (stopped in 5... wtf?).

And yeah, I'm too lazy and dont give enough crap to go through your post history to confirm.

Because you'd see that I'm actually a huge GGG fan. Bro, I don't like Floyd, but I'm not gonna sit here and say Mikey Garcia would've moved up and beaten him at WW.

There's being a fan, then there's being realistic.
