    Canelo's weight history

Canelo's usual weight outside of the ring is around 185 lbs.

At the beginning of 2010, he had the ability to dehydrate himself to 147 lbs, which means, a draining capacity of 38 lbs.

At the end of 2010, he was forced to dehydrate less, as he, as he had admitted himself, found it terrible to go beneath 154 lbs. He started draining himself of 31 lbs for his fights, but his actual draining capacity was 33 lbs, as he would later be able to fight Mayweather at 152 lbs in 2013.

After that, he never went beneath 154 lbs and soon found himself fighting some fights at 155 lbs, all against opponents from beneath 155 lbs. Canelo's draining capacity still allows him to fight at 154 lbs, if he doesn't come in overweight against Smith, but it's apperently getting harder. We won't see him fight at 154lbs again after that fight, as his team gotta have some health concerns by now. That's why they're talking about moving up to fight Saunders, etc... In other words, his draining capacity has dropped to 30 lbs.

    Conclusion:
Since 2010, Canelo's dehydration capacity has dropped from 38 lbs to 30 lbs.

I think that 30 lbs is already a big hazard for his health and soon, we most likely won't see him dehydrate more than 28 lbs, which means he will have to fight at 157 lbs. 2 years from now, I'm 100% confident that his health will have reduced his draining capacity to 25 lbs, forcing him to fight at middleweight. When he turns 30-32 and the youth starts fading, he will have to make a choice between his life and his draining methods. He simply won't be able to drain himself of more than 15-20 lbs, forcing him to fight at around 165-170 lbs.

How do you see his story of weight going? At which year do you imagine him fighting at what weight?

I don't think he walked around at 185 lbs 6 years ago.

Nah, true. It was probably 180 lbs.

In 2010, Alvarez was a 19 year old kid who had just moved up from 147lbs; if you honestly want to argue that, even then, Alvarez was walking around at over 180lbs, the rest of this is a waste of time.

By the time that he was a 23-year old and fighting Austin Trout, i have no doubt that he walked around heavy (he stepped into the ring for the Trout fight, fit and rehydrated, at 170lbs).

Still, thanks to YouTube, you can literally go online, see Alvarez-Mosley, and clearly see that Alvarez was nowhere near as big, physically, as he looked in the Trout fight just over a year later.

I agree, as you can see above your post. He was 180lbs back then, I just made a mistake by putting 5 lbs too much on him.

Anything less than 160 lbs is actually insanely harmful for him and could cause cancer.

I just think it's fascinating. In a way, one might even interpret Canelo to be a true warrior BASED on his weight draining. He's willing to sacrifice his own health to be able to win. That gotta be seen as the heart of a warrior somehow.
