I'm not sure about the financial discussions but a fight vs Shabransky might have more views and more budget. Ward's fight before Brand had like 1.5m views which isn't bad.

Dan Rafael saying that Shabransky' team wanted more than 2x the HBO license fee, and later finding out that HBO paid less than 1/3 of the purses coincides with the small license fee not being any different.

Quite frankly, Barrera was overpaid as **** as it was. And even even if you think Shabransky deserves around the same half mil, it simply was not in the budget unless you think Ward should take 50/50 to fight a guy nobody has heard of. Don't think anyone really necessarily ducked here. We'll see next year again when HBO's budget is normal again.

B57_Sports (on Twitter) appears to be responsible for handling Shabranskyy or at the very least is part of his team in some way. They claim to be "Brilliant57 Sports Management," an athlete management firm. Their latest tweet confirms their Shabranskyy ties.

They posted a tweet claiming Shabranskyy only wants what Sullivan Barrera was paid to fight Andre Ward.

wasnt in the budget man, hell Ward only got 850k for this fight..so it appears only 880k was offered for this fight..so he priced himself out

According to a post, Shabranskyy will take 400K, but that's still a lot more than the 60K Freedom. claimed.

I am On Slava's team. And a 400k would have made the fight. And if the HBO budget is really so much lower then that, disclose it to the team and we would consider.

Conclusion: Calm down with the ducking claims if you don't know or want to understand the financial element of the sport.

Also, remember that purses that you see in commission report's don't include the promoter's cut. That's separate. If Shabransky wanted $450k, that's still probably at least another $150 that goes to the promoter, which adds up to around $600 Roc Nation would have to pay. Again, coincides with what Dan Rafael said about his team asking for more than 2x the HBO license fee.

wards a greedy son of a *****, some fighters would rather share the purse out a bit more and prove themselves against someone of a decent calibre, thats not andre wards style though. His style is to get himself a nice juicy pay packet to beat the **** out of some bum who is getting paid cents.

Don't even know why this is a topic, Ward would befuddle this guy like Barrera and then we'll hear how he's a 17 fight novice, dropped twice by an unknown journeyman, whose best win was a guy that lost to a shot Pascal.
