Kovalev has been fighting far better competition
Than ward , ward is fighting guys that wouldnt even be kovalevs sparring partners.

dude has been fighting over 20 years and hasn't lost since his pubs starting coming in

if you aren't sure of yourself after 2 decades of anything, you need to retire.

Also looking at his last 2 fights, I actually think he has gotten better in some ways......he doesn't waste as much movement, he doesn't throw as many leaping shots, he also catches shots and counters a lot better...that stab jab is awesome, .watching the guy is like a boxing manual now, when he was coming up I felt like I was watching Jones and Hopkins after doing a fusion dance. Now he like mayweather from the last few years

Ward will beat him. Ward has faced better opposition than anyone from 160-175 over the last five years. He has beaten them all. The Krusher didn't KO a 49 year old Bernard Hopkins, because of his cautious assault. Ward is not even close to that age.

... Ward has a history with injuries.

In 2011, he suffered a cut above the eye during camp and postponed the Froch fight with more than one month and a half.
In 2013, he suffered a shoulder injury during camp and scrapped the Pavlik fight.
In 2015, he suffered another injury and scrapped his Brand fight in November.

Ward is going to have to be the initiator by smothering the Krusher on the inside, in order to prevent him from extending his long punches. He needs to stay in close and walk the Krusher backwards, in order to get the full extension on his punches as he gets off first.
