People say Canyellow is the face of boxing and he'll fight GGG next year. I think he's better off waiting for that big payday. Ward way to high a risk and brings nothing but peanuts.

Ward really likes Oakland, but the people just ain't interested. It's whatever. I always thought he should pack up and fight in Vegas or LA.

This is supposed to be about drumming up interest for Ward/Kovalev, not just a tune-up for Andre. Kovalev has no fan base in the States, so Ward has got to make Americans want to buy PPV tickets to watch him going against the big bad Russian. Without that interest, the money to fund his fight with Kovalev won't be there.

So why pick an opponent that doesn't even look the part? If he was going to fight a bum, why not pick a bum the same size as him who doesn't look old enough to be his dad?

Is it any wonder that people like me still don't believe that Ward really wants to fight Kovalev?

Second you would have to be a ****** to think fighting Ward would've been smarter then going after Canelo. Nobody thought Canelo was going to duck GGG so don't give me that "how did that work out for him" bull. Right now this foreigner is better known then Ward probably in Wards own home town.
So wait you guys think Ward will pull out of the Kovalev fight but you thought Canelo would fight GGG.... Yeah GET REAL.

I did not criticise GGG for going after Canelo even though it appeared to be a fool's errand to me. I criticised you for saying that Ward is no reward, he's a bigger reward than Canelo in terms of boxing legacy but all that legacy talk was smoke and mirrors now that we know GGG is a regular businessman like everyone else. Again I don't blame him, the money is the goal but it sure was fun seeing you guys flip flopping and going from noble men respecting the sport to justifying the business behind fighting a welterweight.

Well forget it now, Ward's at 175. Maybe down the road this fight could happen.

I think you're confused. I never said anything about Ward not fighting Kov.
I happen to be a huge Ward fan and I'm picking him to beat Kovalev. But the only reason he's fighting Kovalev is because he's not making **** right now. HE HAS NO CHOICE! Ask yourself this, if Ward was making Mayweather type money would he be fighting Kovalev? NOPE! He would be a business man just like everybody else. I'm one of the few on this site that doesn't care about skin color or where you're from. That's why I support any and all. Also I crap on any and all.

Reminds me of that press conference Cotto held in a shopping mall

Never good when your voice can't be heard over the seagulls.

If you made a recording of the clapping and asked 100 people to listen to it and guess what sport it is, 99 people would say golf.
