Not just fighters against Floyd but you're right. Case in point, Glen Johnson or Orlando Salido nowadays. Dudes went on to fight marquee fights with a grip of losses.Originally posted by AddiX View PostOf all the fighters who got the big Floyd payday I think Maidana was the least likely, dude went on a hArd grind ever since he got the Ortiz fight.
Maidana is further proof you don't need need to protect your record to get big fights and big paydays.
Now look at him living like a king.

maidana needs to come back.
there is money to be made at 147.
had he stayed active throughout, he would have most likely been strongly considered for a pacquiao fight since that would give pacquiao another common opponent with floyd.
even without floyd and manny, there is money to be made at 147 for maidana.

I was trying to guess where his little brother weighed, thinking maybe lightweight.... nope, he fights at welterweight as well, came in at 143.8 for the official weigh in, so a smaller welterweight..... but jesus christ marcos must be near 200 pounds then.

Maidana isn't coming back, he won't be able to fight the way he has to, to be effective. His body has been through too much, too long a layoff, too much food and *******.
He's too far gone, his durability will be non-existent.
Heck he might have a heart attack even attempting to train.
