I don't think it will Bomb because I don't think expectations is high for it to begin with! If anything It could maybe overachieve and do better than anybody expect which would be HUGE but boxing is in a awful space in America right now. Mayweather and Pacquiao is probably NEEDED Back more than fans think! Nobody is talking about it but McGregor won the ESPY's for fighter of the year despite losing and he basically won because of Popularity not because he was deserving
But no I don't think it can "Bomb" because the expectations are not high and everybody expect it to anyway. No much promotion for it some Arum is smart keeping the budget DOWN so he don't have to take a Lose for the event or anything
You realize with no ppv the fight doesn't happen right?
Hbo wouldn't buy it.
You think Postol and crawford fights each other for peanuts on tru TV or what?
Some ppv is because the promoter wants to milk it for the money.
Some though are because TV doesn't buy it or can't afford it and ppv is the only way to hold the fight.
Well That's the problem, HBO could have certainly put this fight on and Lomachenko Walters instead of paying for GGG-Wade, Ward-Brand, Kovalev-Chilemba and many others. They choose to stick to the fighter instead of the good fights themselves leaving us to foot the bill for PPV fights that should be designated to superstars and super fights.

I don't think this is about HBO or TR wanting more money for a fight like this. They would rather do it on regular cable. This is about fighters wanting more money than the network/promoter can afford.
Whatever profit they'll get is probably peanuts considering the cost of promoting a PPV.

I agree that Arum is probably keeping costs way down to offset any potential losses from lack of buys. I hope it does well because it's a fight that deserves to be seen but casuals and fanboys certainly drive the PPV market and neither of these guys is on that level. We saw that even GGG couldn't break 150,000 and he's fairly popular at this point especially compared to Postal who nobody knows and Bud who's just recently becoming a "star".
I hope it does 100,000. But I also hope it doesn't start a trend of good but not PPV worth fights being pushed down our throats for extra $$$

Thats their choice.
We can complain about hbo choice but can't blame the fighters or even the promoter.
But wanting it to bomb ain't gonna hurt hbo.
If anything it'll hurt boxing.
If u can't pony up $50 to watch a good fight, don't complain.
Just stream it and stfu.
This is why boxers cherry pick. If they can't get big money fighting top opponents and fighting who the fans want them to fight, why risk a loss.
Unless you're a die hard you don't know who the fck these people are....Meanwhile Showtime is giving us 3 or 4 nights a week on cable. HBO really has hit the *****house
