Funny, I don't see that " win " listed in boxrec.

    Considering that.....
    1) Cotto weighed 153
    2) Golovkin ran around for FOUR YEARS stating that he can beat "anyone from 154-168"

..... would it have been easier for Golovkin to simply back up all that ****-talk and negotiate a suitable catchweight for Cotto?

That way he would have earned that belt in the ring, instead of picking it up from the gutter..... he would have been paid millions..... and he would have collected his first world-class scalp?

    Surely ?

After talking all that smack for years about 154..... how could Golovkin possibly walk away from the TWO BIGGEST PAYDAYS available in the sport by refusing to negotiate on the weight with 153lb Cotto and 155lb Canelo?

Every shred of credibility that this guy's belt quest had was destroyed by signing up to fight a welterweight. Its **** or get off the pot time for GGG. This guy needs a defining fight soon to justify this hype machine. And signing off to fight Brook eliminates any excuse he could come up with not to go after the Ward-Kovalev winner. And he better hope its Kovalev. Because Kovalev doesn't wanna fight him. But if its Ward, Andre is gonna be relentless in his pursuit of GGG. Not only that, he'll be able to demand it at 175. And any answer outside of, "yes, we'll fight at 175", is gonna get GGG deatroyed in the media and make him look like a total fraud.

      He has to move up.

When your excuse for selecting a welterweight is this.....

..... " he is the best available opponent "

..... then by your OWN admission, you need to move up.

I did not think that way until yesterday..... I always felt that if a fighter is comfortable then he should stay at that weight..... but not now, if Brook is the best that we can expect, then Golovkin needs to back up all that ****-take and move up like Ward did.

But when it comes to them ggg is the big ducker. At least saul fought Kirkland and lara. Ggg wants no part of them. Ggg has been fighting soup cans the majority of his career. It's time for him to step up or shut up.
I agree with most of what you say, I also do give big respect to Canelo for fighting Kirkland and Lara but in NO way would either of them have a chance with GGG @ 160 as a matter of fact nobody does! But in another weight class who knows, but if you really believe he is not the most ducked or dodged fighter right now then the only other fighter you could possibly have in mind is Rigo & in some senses that might be right. Everyone ducks Rigo for his superior boxing skills not his fearlessness, people duck him because there is no reward involved in beating him even if thats not really possible everyone that ducks GGG knows that they can make a real paycheck but dont want to get embaressed, or hurt so they duck ( except for Kell Brook $$$). I do admit though if he is staying at 160 (which is his own right )then there is nobody of intrest besides Canelo ( Who REALLY IS a 160lb fighter,he just wont admit it ).

I'd be surprised if the two of them lasted 5, 6 rounds combined.
And yet he wants no part of either man. He will fight a dude 2 wt classes BELOW him than fight lara or Kirkland.

LOL OH SH!!!!t that was spot on and blew my mind, like I said b4 I am a huge GGG fan but your so right, BUT I do believe he's full of crap now. I think he's just waiting around for Canelo and the huge paycheck and real competion he brings so he's facing a well known name that has no chance of beating him to keep the fight of Canelo alive. BUT yes he should move up in weight if he says he has no competition. Also you say he picked up his belt in the gutter for not doing a catch weight fight with Cotto WHICH is B.S. all catch weight fights are B.S. even if I still watch them, they shouldn't be allowed, you should fight at the belt limit or under by your own wishes. Come on you are going to say catch weights are there to support bad asses , NOPE just to protect unsure fighters GGG included with that Whole WARD fiasco.

If you even think about telling me that lara or Kirkland is not a better option than brooks or WILLIE MONROE, you've had far too much bathtub liqour. Lara lateral movement and superb boxing skill make him a nightmare match up for most fighters. Kirkland punching power is better than any ggg has faced. This is prize fighting, as long as there are mouths to feed therre will be dudes willing to step in the ring. I never bought into everyone is afraid of ggg hype. I just want to see him vs a legit contender. I like brooks but come on ggg will tip the scales at 175 on fight night. How is that a fair fight?

                  I absolutely agree 100%..... good call !!

                  But, this is our problem.....

                  1) nobody gives a shht what you and I think, our opinion is irrelevant

                  2) catchweights are a fact, unfortunately

                  3) Team Golovkin do not give a fat rat's ass about the integrity of boxing, they were more than happy to pull that catchweight stunt on Andre Ward, and then use the "Gennady is the A-side" argument to justify it.

Those hypocrites suddenly developed some integrity for the sport of boxing when Canelo pulled the exact same stunt and it disadvantaged them..... and they have done nothing but lie to the fans..... so yea, fk them.

Whilst - imho - you are 100%..... I do not think that catchweights will, or should, be abolished TODAY, simply to benefit Golovkin.

What happened to all that " anyone from 154-168 " stuff ?

How on earth could a guy who ran around for FOUR YEARS saying that he can beat anyone at 154 possibly refuse to negotiate with 153lb Cotto and 155lb Canelo on the weight..... those were his two biggest possible paydays?

Rightly or wrongly, Golovkin should have fought BOTH of those guys.

You ******. Don't talk about anything you don't know about. On another note, no one is really knocking Kell, just ggg for looking at WW's

Trust me, no one would like those fights more than me.
Two brutal knockout losses in the early rounds.
lol at you trying to big up a guy that lost to Canelo, had close matches with Martirosyan, got dropped badly twice by looks like slow-mo in real life Angulo, and got schooled by Molina who butthurt judges saved him from a loss. Two draws and a wide 7 rounds to 3 97-93 for Molina. None of the judges gave Lara even one card.
                      They couldn't.

I would be most excited though about hearing the new, future boogeymen you would claim he is scared of after disposing of both in short order.

This is a **** fight, but come on man, keep it together.
The hate and butthurt is unraveling you at the seams. You're too emotional and butthurt, that can't be healthy for you.
