We all know there are very few options, to date, because Canelo can't fight Haymon's roster at 154 or 160 as Oscar sued uncle Al for a huge amount of money.

What can Canelo do (other than fight GGG) to win you back as a fan?

He needs to put a stop to the 155 thing. He's 'left' the 160 division, so now he needs to fight at 154.
Fight the other top guys in the division. Jermall, Andradre. Then see from there.
Canelo's stock has dropped. I can only see it dropping further if he misses weight against Smith, and starts to fights 155 again against Khan/Smith-like opponents. Or if boxing politics limits his opponent choice.Last edited by Chrismart; 07-04-2016, 06:56 AM.

Canelo should just stay away from middleweight and fight the top guys at 154. Beat both Charlos, Andrade and one other top fighter before end of 2017.

My only issue is winning the middleweight title at a silly weight limit and fighting as the 'champion'. The fact is that it wasn't so much about winning the title, but more about facing Cotto which was the biggest fight available. Once that was done, he's given up the title to go back to 154. I don't mind that at all. I'd like to see the GGG fight now, but if he's going back to 154 to finish off some stuff there, that's fine. I'm sure we'll end up seeing the GGG fight pretty soon.
He's fought Floyd, Cotto, Lara, Angulo, Khan (yeah, yeah), Kirkland, and Trout in just the last few years and he's only just reached his mid twenties. These are the types of guys we are always saying we want our fighters to be, and then when one fight doesn't work out, everyone goes into conniptions and has a ****ing mass hissy fit.
If he fights GGG, awesome. Would love to see it. If he doesn't, then as long as he keeps fighting the type of fights he has been taking over the last few years, I have no problem with him at all. The Khan fight, for the 160 title, was just silly. There's no doubt, but that was one fight so far. Considering the amount of really ****ty fights other top guys take, I'm willing to give him that, because he's still taking other tough, big fights. As long as it stays that way, I'm cool with it. One fight falling through against a guy who has taken a million ****tier fights himself doesn't negate an entire career.
