Well, it will go a far way of lending legitimacy to GGG as a boxer...at least in the minds of the casual fans. Boxing fans already know he's legit. But to increase his world-wide appeal & ppv status, beating Canelo would go a far way of accomplishing that. And it wasn't not that long ago that Canelo was at the top of many rankings, including top MW & a p4p boxer. If GGG is going to continue to build his brand, a win over Canelo (the top ppv draw) will go a long way of accomplishing that. Does that answer appease you?

It was Ward first fight at 175 and Barrera was IBF mandatory. Lastly, Ward was the best at 168. Why have a problem with HBO selling that point. Don't hate Ward for HBO misuse of undisputed. It's semantics anyway. Ward at 168 was the current GGG at 160. Consensus best without having all the belts.
        Beterbiev...Stevenson. I named 2.

And a tune-up is a tune-up, no matter how you want to slice it. Little known challenger Barrera is not choosing a LHW that prepares you for Kovalev...that's choosing a LHW that gives Ward the easiest shot of winning. And why would I believe the trainer, who's job it is to protect & hype his fighter?...should I start believing everything Roach says too? Every boxing fan knew it was a tune-up...even after it was announced, although intriguing, still acknowledged as a tune-up with Barrera having a puncher's chance (which is humble talk for Ward might whoop his arse). Ward did basically nothing after the super-6. And I was a fan of his who followed him closely. I was always waiting for his next fight. Then I defended him re: the court stuff...and I defended him re: the injuries...but I couldn't defend him when he chose Rodriguez...I couldn't defend him when he went inactive...I couldn't defend him when after the inactivity he did not return to 168. And I couldn't defend him when he signed a contract to move up to 175 after talking all that smack about wanting GGG. I'm done defending him. Actions speak louder than words. Ward doesn't belong on anybody's rankings based on his recent fights. He will only get credit from me when he beats Kovalev...not before.

As far as those two options....Beterbiev is a prospect and no where near the boxer Kovalev is. Stevenson is a short power puncher. Sure those are good fights, but they in no way prepare anybody for what Kovalev brings.

Beterbiev's power is the perfect test for Ward if he truly wanted to prepare for Kovalev...we don't know how Ward would deal with the power at LHW...that's why he should have chosen a power puncher. But you just dismissed it because he's young. That means that no matter who I bring up, you'll just poo-poo it down. Why even ask the question? Are you going to tell me that Brand is preparing Ward for Kovalev? Would you have felt better if I had brought up Braehmer? Nobody complained when the young Inouye captured a world title after only a handful of fights...why should you dismiss a young Beterbiev who is a top-10 guy? Sounds to me like you'll defend Ward no matter what logic I use...

then he should have backed up his big mouth and taken that fight when it was offered to him.....

]Golovkin is willing to fight any man from 154 to 168.....

Golovkin Would Fight Ward at 168 and Canelo at 154.....

                GGG says ''154 - 168 is easy''.....

Golovkin lied to you, and you are blaming Canelo LMAO

Manny Pacquiao must be your favorite fighter, right ?

I know you're not deluded enough to think that Canelo vacating then tried to appease the fans with a future september 2017 fight with GGG was some kind of a plan?...I mean, excluding the fact that they chose September of 2017 for the fight rather than cinco de mayo. The hype man can't possible misconstrue the actions of Canelo & GBP as some kind of smart maneuver for Canelo's career?...wasn't Canelo the one who said that Mexicans don't f#ck around?...apparently they do...in the form of ducking GGG. I know you'll get your hype trolling act together in order to keep the hype alive for the GGG/Canelo fight. Don't stop posting on every GGG-related article there. Keep your dreams alive...

Brand is only live sparring. That's how he preps Ward. It isn't ideal to be honest. Beterbiev has power but no where near the boxing skills. Like I said, good fight but not a proper tune up. He also just fought a month ago. You test your ability to take shots in training camp. That way if you get your bell rung it doesn't put your money at risk ya dig.

As far as "poo poo" on your ideas for tune ups...not hardly...just think guys like Fontana (scheduled fight already) and Cleverly (turned an offer down) were the only real options.

Not ideal...but that's who Ward chose. Naw man, a boxer can only be tested in the sport by getting in the ring in a non-sparring fight...no protective gear...just fight. There is not enough sparring in the world to prepare a boxer for getting hit flush while not wearing headgear & pads. It's the reason why Kovalev chose defensive-minded Chilemba to prepare for Ward...you choose a fight that prepares you best for the bigger fight down the road. If Ward isn't picking the best guys to prepare him for the LHW champion, then what plan are they following?

Braehmer, Beterbiev, Browne, or even Smith after his upset win...all better options than little known Brand. But they still chose Brand...excuse me...they re-chose Brand.
