And I'm not so sure that anyone at 168 is going to automatically legitimize GGG's resume either. He definitely wants to leave a legacy. And when defining a boxer's legacy, it's about who you fought & when. Just gotta get GGG more fights against top names. Of course, getting the top names to stop ducking him is a whole other matter. I think that a ton of casual fans will recognize GGG as legit if he beats Canelo. Give us the fight.
Nelo only brings money to GGG career, if Nelo wins a few more at 154 or 160 against true Middleweights or jr Middles, hes gona face Beefy next lol

Well than GGG can stay at 160 i guess be great there, thats going very very well for him lol

U not giving Ward credit, wow n u call urself a fan of boxers lol

hopefully GGG makes all ur wishes come true
Naw man...Ward had 2 opportunities to make the Bute fight before Froch fought him. And even after that, Ward still could have fought him. The transitive property does not work in boxing. Just because so-and-so beat him, doesn't mean that you'll beat him. You let your fists do the talking in boxing. And in his last fight against Barrera, they tried to sell him as the former undisputed champion at 168. That's why I've criticized Ward. He never fought either of the Dirrells, he never fought Bute, & he never fought DeGale. And I'm not alone in this. And clearly, choosing Brand (how old is he again?) is not going to help Ward prepare for Kovalev...he just won't. That's why it's worth questioning Ward's actions...he won the super-6 years ago...but in this sport, it's what have you done for me lately. You can't keep bringing up the super-6 without being rebutted with 4 straight tune-ups. At least Kovalev chose a defense-minded Chilemba. Please, do some research.

It is going well for him. GGG is the most talked-about boxer in the sport. There's no panic here. His paydays are only going to climb from here on out. I've been to other forums & have seen how much vitriol Canelo is facing. I've even seen Canelo's twitter (wooh, the guy can't post anything without being called some kind of vagina). Let's face facts here: out of the 6 top opponents Canelo could have chosen from at 154, he chose the weakest one...Andrade, either Charlo, Lara rematch, Cotto rematch, J-rock...but he chose beefy. That's why Canelo gets no love. On the other hand, GGG gets tons of love because he's not the one ducking...he's not ducking any fighter. I don't think anyone alive has ever seen this kind of avoidance from top fighters. It's unprecedented stuff. I think that's the reason why there are some tough critics out there for GGG. But he can only fight 1 guy at a time...& he can only fight those who are willing. To avoid making this post too long, I won't list all the excuses from every fighter. But you get my point. Canelo/Smith is the fight no one wanted...well, except Beefy & his family. GGG isn't going anywhere for the next couple years. You might as well enjoy the ride.

Me as a fan id perfer him to move to another weightclass n chase them out either 154-160 would really make him the biggest boogeyman, him sitting at 160 aint much, hes facing Eubank jr next, come on now Eubank is not ready n most likely will never be, it will be a fun scrap so im all in from that view

Once again, GGG can only fight those who are willing. If you can name me that 1 fighter that can add legitimacy to GGG's resume that GGG can actually schedule a fight with right now, then I will admit you are right. News flash: GGG options is only 1...Eubank Jr. There are no other names available to him. But give me that 1, & I'll admit you're right.

And I'll repeat myself: Ward gets credit after he beats Kovalev...not before.

Well, Eubank Jr. & Sr. are talking like he's ready. Why not give him a shot at 3 titles? Who else is there that isn't already tied to another fight or ducking GGG?

Oh-kay. I don't think there's a named boxer at 168 right now who'd sign on for a GGG fight. And I don't think it's smart for GGG's career to not go after the undisputed status, as well as the title defense record. He does that, his name goes down in history. If he were to move to another weight class, it would defeat all the work he's put in to get to this point. It will be a bad move if he doesn't at least become undisputed by beating BJS. Like I said, how can GGG improve his resume when all the top guys are ducking him? In this social media age, I think all the duckers will cave into the pressure & take the GGG fight eventually. Only time will tell.

Golovkin is your girlfriend, and you are the one defending that rubbish, so why don't YOU start asking some difficult questions, fanboy?

and here, you can answer this question while you're at it.....

How can you possibly count those " interim " fights as official defences?
You cannot blame GGG or K2 for something an alphabet organization is doing or has done to shape the sport of boxing. Oh wait, I forgot who I'm talking to. You keep up the good work, hype man. Keep playing the villain so that you can continually hype GGG & keep the Canelo fight alive. I'm rooting for the fight to happen as well.
