Again, I can't seem to make myself clear here. Floyd wasn't just criticizing his performances. He was ridiculing it and told us Ali absolutely didn't deserve to be glorified.
Real class act
Ridiculing it in what way? He critisized it and he said that kind of performance shouldn't be glorified in his opinion. Nothing wrong with that.
Where did he say Ali as a fighter shouldn't be glorified? And even if he did that's not classless either that's once again just his opinion. He doesn't have to like the guy.

Ali dies, Floyd write something and the haters take the opportunity just to bash.
The real theme is that a living legend died and many will be touched by this

that's the firs thing i thought when i saw it. you're fine to think that way. i thought, "wow, one of the greatest boxers of all time just died, and floyd still managed to make it about himself in 2 sentences.

In a way Floyd represents the world today, obsessed with money, no integrity, no cultural identity, dumb as a doorknob.
Ali represents one of the truly Great cultural heroes of the 20th century, He comes from an era rich with truly great men trying to make the world a better place. whether it be Martin Luther King, John lennon, Malcolm X.
Ali certainly deserves to be mentioned alongside those names.
How many heroes are there today?
Kind of depressing.

Dodging the draft? So would Floyd. Rest assured. Anyone with the money/fame or other means dodged it.
Black power movement? Floyd seems to hold the same views.
I don't get the big difference. I guess as the years go by things people find shameful become cool. Ages into a brand.
Once that generation that looked up to you ages, and it becomes official that you got away with being a trouble maker, you become legendary. Floyd will get there.

Ali never had respect for someone like Jr. TBE? What a joke and disrespectful act toward the Greatest. People forget Ali lost 4 year of his physical prime (from 25-29) and is still consider the best ever. His story extends well beyond boxing. His story is woven into the fabric of this country. He is the best of the USA in that he could rise up and elevate his sport despite coming from humble beginnings, and he is part of the worst of this country when it comes to civil rights and him standing up against the Vietnam war.
When Jr. passes it will be just a footnote, another good boxer passing away.

But his past comments in connection to this makes us think about his selfishness. That's what I was trying to say.
He should have just said what he said and if bringing up what Ali did for others, then use plural language as in "what he did for fighters now". Nobody cares about Floyd right now.

I don't think there was anything wrong with what Floyd said. He was praising Ali. I don't see what the problem is. I mean, yeah, he was saying things like how he usually does but if you put it aside, he was giving Ali a lot of praise.
