Comments Thread For: Ryabinsky Intent To Clear Povetkin, Reschedule Wilder Bout

Moscow, Russia -- krikya360.com was invited to an exclusive face-to-face interview with the head of Russia based "World of Boxing" promotional company Andrey Ryabinskiy as he clarified the latest situation with regard to the postponed WBC heavyweight title clash mandated between American champion Deontay Wilder and Russian contender Alexander Povetkin.

Everyone's story matches except for Wilder's. His camp is pretending Povetkin tested "dirty" and the fight as "called off".

According to WADA guidelines, VADA rules, WBC's statement, and Ryabinsky, it's postponed to make sure the amounts were below threshold.

Hopefully the WBC will eventually come forward with a justified ruling and setting a new date for the fight.

It would've been nice to hear him explain why the three previous tests were clean and if he felt VADA was incompetent for missing the meldonium the first three times.

I anxiously await some lame evidence Povetkin is innocent. Testing clean 3 times & coming up dirty a 4th time is a steep hill to climb towards innocence in this situation.

If there is any legit respectable thing happening with this Povetkin will get suspended for 6+ months & they could potentially put on this fight at the end of the year or around this time next year assuming the WBC keeps his ranking which they may or may not do & the longer the suspension the more likely he loses his ranking.

Well it's only trace levels, 15 times lower than the legal limit. So it is possible that levels that low just might not have shown up on earlier tests.

There are really only two explanations. What they detected was trace levels of doses taken while the drug was still legal. Or that Povetkin micro-dosed this stuff. Don't know if there's any benefit to the latter, or if it's even possible. It's not that powerful a drug.

That's the thing. He didn't test dirty. He came up with trace levels 15 times below the limit set by WADA itself. So he's not even dirty really. And since he's well within WADA's own guidelines, the WBC might have to legal basis to deny him his mandatory.
