The problem, as I see it, is that people would like to be fans of the guy, but the reluctantly of fighting threats, real legitimate threats, does not allow them to do so. Thus far the opportunity to be there to fight guys that, even slightly out of their prime, would've been better choices than the Wade's, Monroe, etc. I mean the guy fought and stopped Geale in 3 rds, but then a almost 20 lb lighter Cotto stopped him in 4 in just as devastating fashion. I know I know it was at 157, but it's not like Geale looked like DLH when he fought pacquiao. That doesn't tell me much except Geale wasn't in Cottos league. Golovkin was hell bent on unifying the division and hide behind that excuse to move up. Now it's done, now there's no reason to look at a Degale, Jack, etc, etc, to prove he is truly elite. If he does that, he WILL gain more respect, more fans, and more money fights.

What a pathetic, jealous, loser attitude that is.

Originally posted by Bronx2245 View PostBut Hopkins moved down for Oscar, moved up to LHW and got a belt there, and his last fight was vs. Kovalev. So we know Hopkins has heart. The question today: Is GGG on the same level as Sugar Ray Leonard, Oscar, B-Hop, Mayweather, Cotto, and Pacquiao? All those guys had belts in multiple weight classes!

We need to stop comparing one fighter to the other, not everyone has the same ambitions or wants to write the same story line. Golovkin at this point can only move up in weight, moving down long term is not an option. He will move up when they figure the time is right. I wanted him to move up well over a year ago and then realized...I don't pay that mans bills. Should they be making better fights? Yeah, am I going to sit around complaining about it? NO.
Btw. Jordan could've played anywhere and been the man, please don't compare an unproven fighter to a beyond human basketball player.
