First of all, don't start crying to me about deflecting. This thread, and this argument, was about Ward and Kovalev, and that's what I was discussing, till people started coming at me with ... "GGG doe ... GGG doe" ... as soon as I said something critical about Ward. Now that's deflecting.

Second, Golovkin has NEVER said that he wouldn't fight Ward at 168. All he and Loeffler said was that 50/50 money and weight would be fair, and that was a hypothetical answer to a hypothetical question, put to them by a journalist during an interview.

Of course they didn't ask Froch and Chavez for catchweights. Froch and Chavez were the cashcows of the SMW division, and Golovkin was actually chasing fights with them.

It's interesting though that Golovkin was willing to fight Froch, the best name on Ward's resume, in the UK, which was something Ward wasn't willing to do himself.

Ward never cleared out SMW. He wouldn't fight Bute or Stevenson and he wouldn't rematch Froch or Kessler either.

No way outpointing Froch at 168lbs, 4 years ago, makes Ward favourite over Kovalev at 175, no matter how fine tuned he is!

Look at all the GGG fans already in fear of this fight! Why? Because they know that if Andre Ward climbs through those ropes to fight Kovalev in 2016, GGG will look like a Lil' G before Ward even throws a punch! Whether Ward was the best SMW on the planet is a matter of opinion, and I wasn't even talking about that. I'm saying he didn't clean out the division, and that's a fact.

Golovkin probably is the best MW on the planet, I would say so, but he hasn't cleaned out his division either, which is why his fans want him to stay at 160 and finish the job, something Ward wasn't up to doing at 168.
