I was completely bummed that this fight is not happening as I was on the fence about flying to Moscow to see it live.
Seeing Wilder demand the purse... lol. great laugh.
In any case, he can sue for whatever he wants, does not mean he will get it.
The guy could of at least show up to the press conference.
In any case, if anyone watched the press conference they would of known there were two things they could of done.
1. Keep the fight on, let it happen, and they would test after. If it was indeed positive and he took meldonium after 1/1, he would lose.
2. Postpone the fight until this situation was rectified.
As per Ryabinski, both parties chose to postpone the fight. There was no talk of cancellation.
In fact, there are interviews with Ryabinski stating that he would be suing Wilder and his team if they failed to fight the mandatory.
Considering the fact that it was 70 nanograms, and that Wilder was quoted saying he would beat Povetkin even if he was juiced.... he could of kept the fight going.
In that context... now seeing him demand the purse.... what a joke.
The press conference also had a scientist talk about the specific results.
Essentially, since no one really conducted full blown research on the drug, no one knows how it behaves.
If Povetkin took a dose, right after the last clean test, he would of test at least 1.5 Mg, ie, 1500 nano grams during the dirty test..... whereas AP only tested 71 or 72 nano grams, which is consistent with residual from before the deadline.
lastly, it is urine test... concentrations can change, I assume depending on diet and how much he was drinking/sweating and how hard he was training closer to the match.
On a side note... **** that makes you go "hmmm".... Do you think this was all staged? After all... Showtime miraculously DID NOT have a deal yet to televise the match and boom... all of the sudden, fight is postponed.

Quite audacious to demand the whole purse. Wilder deserves compensation for training and travel costs, plus a little extra for lost earnings. I assume that's covered in the contract in case of cancellation of any kind. If not, this business might be more hassle than it's worth.
He's free to pursue this of course. I would just have preferred him to have done his fighting in the ring. I'm old school like that.
