Wilder and his team have the right to do whatever they want in this situation. Povetkin got caught cheating and therefore Wilder is not obligated to defend his title against him. However, if I were Wilder I'd still take the fight, because cheating or not I think Wilder still beats Povetkin.

Not only is Povetkin a POS CHEAT but he's a LIAR as WELL!!! ESPN is reporting They have 2 separate reports from VADA saying he took it WELL after it was banned. NOT before...He apparently used it between April 11 and April 27th.

If your caught cheating you should be BANNED and should not have the privilege to fight for a belt! Or at least get dropped to the back of the line.

Because Povetkin didn't test dirty. VADA just wanted time to re-test the fighters.
Cancelling/pulling out is 100% Wilder's team's decision.
According to WADA rules, Povetkin is a clean athlete:
"Wada said in its briefing document that doping cases should be pursued in the case of athletes who admit having taken meldonium on or after 1 January, in cases where the concentration of the drug is above 15 micrograms per millilitre, or where the concentration is between 1 and 15 millilitres and the test was after 1 March.
The organisation said prosecution of meldonium cases could be “stayed” and provisional suspensions lifted if the concentration of the drug in the system was between 1 and 15 micrograms per millilitre and the test was carried out before 1st March, or if the level is below 1 microgram per millilitre and the doping control was conducted after 1st March."

Povetkin tried to cheat and it's as clear as day, and in most contracts if someone tested positive the fight is off and they get suspended.
Such a shame that American fans would go as far as supporting the foreign fighter that tested positive over their American fighter, only in America, and you idiots wonder why nobody takes risks anymore in the sport.

I hope Povetkin can somehow prove his innocence, I was looking forward to this fight it is a shame Povetkin has this substance in his system regardless of whether it was done this year frankly we're the losers, like we haven't had to wait long enough to see Wilder face a competitive opponent, boxing fans are the losers again.
If Povetkin is found to be proved guilty I hope they give him a two year ban, effectively ending his career at this level. With stringent testing I honestly believe Povetkin would not have taken the PED knowingly or willingly, judging by what we have heard it appears he may well be telling the truth with such minimal amount showing.
