It was no accident that this substance was in his system. If he legally took it, he would've told them instead of them finding it on a random test.
Did you read the article? It says Povetkins team admitted openly that took Meldonium as recently as last fall in his win over Wach when it was still legal.

I'm just gonna watch it unfold. There was an artcle saying from Meldoniums manufacturer that said it can take months to leave the body on reuters, If people are still testing positive at the end of the year they have no excuse but for the majority of athletes so close after the drug being banned the benefit of the doubt is given in my opinion.

Such a dumb as.s statement. If Wilder tested positive y'all would be calling for him to be banned and lynched. Povetkin doubted his skills and chances which is why he CHEATED. When you have fear you will do anything.

        That amount is so minuscule.

That's why they have thresholds, so yo can't fail a drug test for heroin after eating poppy seed bagels or poppy cake.
Ok. What I don't get is that his promoter is saying the allowable limit is 1-15 micrograms. Povetkin was 0.07 micrograms. If its within the allowable limits (according to his promoter) why is it being called a failed test?

        3) Cases where the concentration is below 1 µg/ml and the test was taken before 1 March
2016 are compatible with an intake prior to January 2016. If the anti-doping
organization finds that the athlete could not reasonably have known or suspected that
the substance would still be present in his/her body on or after 1 January 2016, then a
finding of no fault or negligence may be made.

And if I'm reading that correctly that means if he last took it in September, as his promoter claims, it's not consistent with what his levels are now?

I read the article, but what I don't understand is why not be transparent and admit they took it while it was still legal to avoid any confusion. Why did they have to get caught.

Also, from what I heard is this wasn't the first test. Povetkin had somehow passed his other tests, so why is it just now showing up?

Either way, 127 athletes had tested positive for this PED since it was banned by WADA in January. If Povetkin took it last year and he knew he would be tested, why not come forward several months ago when the fight was announced and say "hey, I took this last year".

In fact, if I'm not mistaken, fighters are required to disclose any substances they think might cause issues.

Most PED's was Legal at some point before it was discovered that it might be giving athletes some type of advantage over their opponent

So Povetkin was on that good stuff against Wach?

Now that I think about it, wasn't Wach on that good stuff also?

Povetkin defenders be like "it was just a smidgin of PEDs in his system. Matter of fact it was so small that you could really just say PED without the "s".

Meldomium shouldn't be a banned substance all of a sudden. It's advantages are so minute. It's not an anabolic steroid, and there are legal alternatives to it that can that can aid an athlete even more. These monitoring groups are out of hand. And now Povetkin win will be tainted by fanatics, if he wins.

Gotta love them Negro lovers. If Povetkin gets caught they want no excuses. When Floyd got caught it was all about excuses and the TUE. Thankfully VADA don't believe in that.

This makes literally no sense whatsoever,
