Good luck at a negotiation table with that...

I agree he won't vacate. I was very surprised by the post fight events of inviting GGG into the ring and Canelo himself stating that 160 was not an issue.

Canelo may sign the contract for the fight and get "badly injured" during camp... so he may take one year off and wait for a buss to crush into GGG...

in this situation what's the difference between being stripped or vacating? Sanchez keeps insinuating Nelo being stripped. just going off the suspense and 2018 as he said!

Your math is a bit rusty. Try again.

So Alvarez and Lil'G "signed" agreements to face each other after the Wade or Khan bout...the signage was before Loeffler or Abel were interviewed as they stated the fight won't happen until 2017 or 2018. Therefore, GBP are not interested in Loeffler or Lil'Gs negotiations for this mandatory situation. This is a negotiation farce of money that GBP will advise Nelo to vacate since he beat Cotto and got the Lineal. Which means the only loss is the WBC.

So Lil'G would have been promoted 2 for 2 with the WBA and now the WBC?

Will GBP risk the purse bid scenario? I highly doubt it, and Bhop will not allow such ***gitry?
He's not likely to throw the belt in the trash (Mexico's biggest star disrespecting the Mexico City-based boxing organization in such a way would be a bit much), but the stage is already set.

Alvarez has made it beyond clear that, unlike Golovkin, the belt doesn't mean much to him; after all the nonsense that's been talked, he simply wants to kick Golovkin's ass. If K2's hangup ends up getting to the media as "since the WBC 160 belt is on the line, the fight has to be at 160", I don't doubt that Canelo pulls that card in an instance; head to ESPN, tell the folks that since he wants the fight, and Golovkin wants the fight, but the title belt seems to be in the way of the negotiations, 'here's the belt for you guys to keep' before moving on with his career.

Golovkin has three belts around his waist and, if his camp was being honest to the public, the biggest fight in his mind would then be the full unification with Billy Joe Saunders, rather than fighting "at less than 160lbs".

Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez has far more marketable fights beyond fighting Golovkin.

I'd read the full quotes before going with that; just saying.

I agree. Gigantic, enormous, huge G will be the new WBC champ. I am curious what Canelo will do with no title. Will he try to win a title at 154 or will he fight random high paying opponents at his favorite weight of 155? I love Canelo and I think he is a damn good fighter. He is being silly with this 155 business. He should pick 154 or 160 and fight at one weight or the other.
