Instead of blaming Crawford, let's blame Arum. EVERYONE expects to get paid more for taking on harder work. If Crawford stayed in the 500k-750k bracket for the circus shows against midgets, that 7 figure payday would be taken quickly.

Arum/HBO are in a tough spot because they have to keep up with the Joneses (Al Haymon). If Crawford isn't happy, he may not stay too long.
If Crawford stayed in the 500k zone he would be complaining how little he made.

Seriously, where do these fighters think the extra money is going to come from. All boxers should be forced to take an economics class

The problem these days is what fighters are willing to do to avoid taking those tougher fights for anything less than a massive pay day. They'll fight garbage for 50% of what they were offered for the other fight, or take a year or two off if they have to.

It would be understandable if these guys were getting UFC undercard pay for their fights, but they're being made into multi-millionaires for fights with opponents that are unknown outside of the hardcore fanbase.

Poor Bud. I wonder how long he's locked up in that slave contract with Top Rank. I'm sure he wants to move over to Al Haymon/PBC sooner than later.

worst start to a year that I can remember. Things seem very slow - where is this money supposed to come from?

Really thought Crawford had that "when and where" attitude.

              Disappointed.

They all want to fight bums and get paid astronomical sums.
Arum needs to let this guy go and have him signed up with PBC.
                That's where he belongs.

I don't mean to take this out on Crawford but this is an example of why I hate relying on the upper echelon of the sport to get my boxing fix.

Usually when I heard crappy news like this on a Friday, I knew I had old reliable Friday Night Fights to come in and distract me.

No matter how mediocre FNF was, no matter how many times I fell asleep watching, at least it was consistent this time of year...now there is nothing like that and we have to wait for the top guys to get their **** together in order to watch boxing.

"Im taking all the risk in the ring. Why am i giving you 30% of my earnings? To be the circus ring leader? Nah i want my money, you can take less to scream MY NAME"

I don't have a problem with NFL or Boxers saying f.uck you I Want more and sitting out if they have to. There is no loyalty or respect for the athlete in either sport and us fans could care less about the athletes.

If Bud doesn't feel the $ right then pursue other options. In reality him making 1.2 he's probably only seeing 400-600k

For the most part It has nothing to do with boxers being scared or ducking or wanting to fight cans but this is a unregulated sport that the fighters constantly get jerked around in so if they ever get a chance to get some leverage all power to them.
