Not only that, but it CERTAINLY wouldn't be a chinny fighter like Ward who got dropped by a fringe journeyman. After the fight with Boone, Ward was scared to fight a real puncher, so he feasted on plodding, "tough guy," club-brawler, flat-footed, no real power-just a good chin-and willing to fight- slow, unathletic basically "I worked hard to become a pro boxer but have no natural gifts" bums like Abraham, Froch, Bika, etc. Ward literally has the most overrated resume, EVER yes, he cleaned out 168..... But a TERRIBLE 168, just like how people say GGG cleaned out 160, but a TERRIBLE one that features Macklin, Geale, etc as top fighters.... That's exactly what Ward is a product of.

Still, Ward is a legit P4P talent, hall of famer, based on beating the best in his division (even tho they ******), and he definitely passes the eye test, so he is still that DUDE, and I would not dare to say he sucks or is overrated (SKILL WISE) because Kovalev needs 10000% full credit for this fight if he is to become the GOAT LHW (Adonis still needs to step up so Kovalev can take that belt) but the fact of the matter is this: I promise you guys that Ward has never in his life been in the ring with a guy with the total package and skillset/power combination that Kovalev has at his disposal. On the flip side, Kovalev has seen plenty of skilled boxers with no power in the amateurs- and Ward will be nothing new. I PROMISE YOU GUYS that anybody who looks at Kovalev as "another Froch" or looks at Wards resume as a resume "full of guys like Kovalev" is going to be in for a HUGE shock. I absolutely promise, promise, PROMISE, that you're going to sit there and be like "wtf is this? This isn't supposed to be happening" The reason why is because nobody, I mean nobody, none of those plodding cavemen Ward has fought are anywhere in the same stratosphere. I mean LIGHT YEARS in distance to Sergey Kovalev.

Two. More. Months. Lets. Get. It.
    You're a great poster.

Let's hope Ward doesn't retire after Kovalev and perhaps fights Beterbiev

If Kovalev manages to win in convincing fashion, kovalev would put Russia on another level with boxing.

It's gonna be a careful fight for the both of them. Same as it was with Hopkins-Kovalev.

Kovalev by late stoppage or UD.

november 19th might be wards last fight...

When a spoiler loses badly, that's them done. People tune in to watch because they think they are the best fighter, not because they are entertained by them.
So when a fighter with a boring style like ward whos never been involved in an entertaining fight loses, no one is going to watch him.
Whereas if an entertaining, crowd pleasing fighter like kovalev lost, people would still tune in for his fights cause he provides good value for money.
Most commonly if someone loses they blame it on weight and try and reinvent themselves at a different weight, if ward goes up hes got usyk who he would have no chance against. He cant make 168 now either, so if he loses he has no options.
Ward doesn't seem to have a passion for the sport, and has been forced into this fight having been content to fight nobodies for the past 5 years. He has also relayed concerns about what boxing is doing to his health.
So with his lack of options, and having taken a hiding from kovalev, will we ever see ward in a ring after this fight?

He might fight random bums for easy paychecks and then scram.

I really do think he's fishing for a big payday and that's Kovalev.
