You are the one deluded. You missed the point. People want to see Floyd lose emphatically and without controversy so they can non-stop barrage him about his and others claims on the PFP and ATG rankings list.
Whether Floyd fights him or not, Floyd is underdog against GGG, so that's as good as a loss already, unless Floyd takes a risk and tries proving otherwise. If Floyd dont fight him people will assume he didn't think he could beat him or was too scared which is a common theme with Floyd.
But if Floyd beats him, he can then shout that we shouldn't dare make him underdog until he is 50 years old like Ali said when he beat foreman
Still, Mayweather does not need and has never needed to fight GGG to prove anything. Many wanted to see him fight GGG because they wanted one more chance to hope to see Mayweather lose.
Sure he doesn't "need" it but if he wants to claim himself as the best, GGG is the perfect candidate to do that, especially when he outright just said he would've beat him.
I get what he saying cuz its true, But it would be nice to see him fight somebody in their prime...even though he shouldnt have to challenge a 160lb fighter
