Who's really reaching? Stop repeating what you read on here, Baby G and team made comment about 154-168 since '13. Baby G just said a few months ago on Sports Nation when Kellerman ask him about fighting Ward he said only at 164...

On the first page you said Ward turned down the fight in 2013. That rumor came from the article that GGG was quoted as saying Ward turned down the fight 3 times. Tom said that was false and GGG never said Ward turned down the fight 3 times.

This is the article you were referencing

Now you are just putting up a smoke-screen.

Sanchez and Loeffler have never said that Ward didn't deserve a fight with GGG because he'd been inactive and they couldn't have made the fight while he was inactive.

But when he was active they still didn't want to make the fight because Ward was a SMW. Not because Ward wasn't a draw. Tom said the fight couldn't be made because Ward was one division higher. Later they were willing to make the Froch fight and the Chavez Jr fight one division higher. That's when they started saying the reason the Ward fight couldn't be made is because he's not a draw. Him not being a draw wasn't a reason while he was active.

I've never mentioned or even read any article with GGG saying Ward had turned down the fight 3 times. I don't believe that article even exists outside your imagination.

Don't accuse me of saying something I didn't say because of some imaginary article in your head.

You're going to be telling me I wrote the damned thing next.

The option to pick Ward wasn't even there any more as Andre had already signed a contract with HBO to fight at 175.

All Loeffler said was that BHop would be a better opponent than Ward because he had been more active.
So we go back to my original question. What does Ward's activity/inactivity have to do with the fight being made? They're justifying Hopkins being a better opponent because he's been more active than Ward but by the time the fight would be made Hopkins would've fought once in two years and Ward would've fought twice in one year. Ward is clearly more active.

Sanchez and the rest of this horrible team kept stating that Ward didn't deserve a fight with Baby G because he has been inactive too long. So why turn around and say his inactivity is not a disadvantage? When at first you used it as an EXCUSE so Ward wouldn't put them "paws" on him.
Inactivity has two consequences - ring rust or drop in popularity.

They're saying inactivity is not a disadvantage for the Barrera fight because they don't expect him to be rusty.

And they didn't want to make GGG/Ward because of Ward's lack of popularity (among other issues) due to inactivity. Barrera's an unknown, so they have no problems putting them together.

So where did you get the idea Ward had turned down a fight at all? Tom said Ward never turned down a fight. Are you just making stuff up?

You can't fight an inactive boxer, FFS!

So why were they trying to fight a retired Froch?

And back in 2013 while Ward was still active Tom was saying the reason the Ward fight won't happen is because Ward is a SMW. But they were willing to fight Chavez Jr at any weight
