We shall see, we haven't seen Alvarez really fight on his back foot either. The only gauge here is one guy wants the fight asap the other guy needs to make stipulations.

Canelo has better handspeed and head movement. GGG has a better jab, a morw accurate puncher, and works the body better. I think Canelo is a better inside fighter. The advantage I give GGG is that Canelo likes to fight in spurts and take breaks during rounds. And GGG is relentless and isn't gonna let Canelo have his breaks. I think at a distance, both will have success. But Canelo has to find a way to keep GGG off him when he's not engaging. The best way IMO to do it is his own body attack to slow GGG down. But, that opens him upbto be countered upstairs. The other thing he can do to keep Gennady off him is to knock the hell outta him early in the fight and hurt him. Having you bell rung makes any fighter leery of being in total attack mode. Its gonna be an interesting fight. I certainly favor GGG. But I don't think Canelo is exactly a no hoper either.

Canelo showed head movement against Cotto, that's about the only time his head movement was anything to write home about. Canelo's head movement leaves his gut completely exposed to body punching which is somethig he'd pay for in a fight with Golovkin but i'm not getting into a tit for tat about it. Hop on Twitter let's hope we can entice Canelo's inner macho man to take the fight like he was forced to with Lara.

I think Bernstein might be my favorite non-boxer in the sport, but I think he's wrong here & surprised he can't even imagine Canelo winning this fight.

I even consider GGG to be the #1 guy at 160 right now (cuz eff the lineal title & Canelo beating the man who beat the crippled man), but I think he'll have a tougher time with Canelo as Canelo is craftier than he's given credit for & I think GGG gives certain guys too much respect at times & I think Canelo will be one of those guys. I think Canelo is gonna win all the close rounds & he might win this fight controversially cuz by no means do I think it won't be competitive, but I love Canelo's chances.

I think I got more confidence Canelo comes out on top than Oscar does, but then again maybe I wouldn't be as confident if I had millions of potential future dollars on the line over Canelo winning or losing.

canelo and oscar's reluctance has actually made me doubt their chances. on paper i think it sounds like a good match-up, but why the feet dragging on canelo's side? it's not just oscar either; whenever canelo is asked about GGG he always says something to effect of "i will fight him if i have to" - never "i want the fight". he sounds like a man stoically anticipating his own execution

depends what weight class. 155 i favor canelo. 160 the edge goes to GGG. Its a close fight however you dice it.

I agree with Bernstein. I don't think this is even a close fight. I like Canelo a lot but I think he will just be out of his depth with GGG. KO or retired by 8 or 9.

So did Lemieux. Except Lemieux is slightly taller. Didn't help him at all, though, despite having power and definitely better hand-speed. Of course, Lemieux has less refined skills and is more prone to slugging, but I'm just saying...

Canelo has certainly improved, but his fight against Cotto didn't tag me as too impressive, despite the fact that Cotto has all the disadvantages in this category.


In fact, I think Canelo vs Lemieux would be an interesting match up, to say the least.
