Comments Thread For: Abel Sanchez: Beating Andre Ward Puts Barrera on Kovalev's Level

A recent article on krikya360.com revealed that a deal between former super middleweight and Super Six tournament winner Andre Ward and undefeated Cuban Sullivan Barrera was close to being reached for March 26th. If finalized the fight would take place at the Oracle Arena in Oakland and headline a HBO World Championship Boxing card.

Well of course, beating Ward even by razor thin decision would make Barrera top 3 in the division and if he somehow dominated Ward then I think a lot of people would pick him against Kovalev, Stevenson.

      To Early

I agree with Sanchez on Barrera being physically in top shape and an amateur background which have given him the proper foundations in boxing. However, i dont think he is ready for Ward. Ward is a seasoned pro with also a great amateur background and i think Ward will pick Barrera apart. Only time will tell i guess.

He has tremendous talent and it doesn't make a difference if he's been inactive UNLESS he's fighting Lil G.

Shame on lil g's fan and his coach..

Barrera requested the fight take place in a country that doesn't allow pro boxing? Seems unlikely.

Shame that If Sullivan does possess the skills to beat Ward, Ward will illegally clinch and headbutt his way with no warning from the referees because he's American.
Very sad indeed, If this can happen Sullivan needs to be wary of Wards cheating antics because every big fight Ward has been in he has utilized lack of sportsmanship to win them this is the act of someone that isn't a true good athlete.

Is someone still mad that Ward handled Froch so easily?

Yeah, cuz Andre beat Paul Smith at 172lbs.

So obviously, he's the best 175lb fighter in the world right now, unless Barrera can prove otherwise.

But but but but Ward is talented doe, this is why he uses low underhanded dirty tactics to win all his meaningful fights.
