Not exactly. They have the same promoter - Duva - but Barrera is trained by Abel Sanchez, so he's GGG's stablemate.

Barrera has accepted the money and it's Ward who's holding things up now.

Still think we should be screaming duck?

That makes no sense at all.

Barrera is supposed to be a tune-up for Ward to get him ready for Kovalev.

Ward has a date of March 26. At this stage if not Barrera then he's not fighting because no world class fighter will take an Andre Ward fight with this late of a notice. And any fighter that is willing to take the fight at this point won't be approved by HBO.

              They'll get it done...i think they're confident.
I thought there was duckage but they're confident in SB.

I've never seen Sullivan Barrera fight before, but I did just see that he fought and stopped Jeff Lacy in 2015 in an 8 rounder... A little sad to see Jeff Lacy still in the game.

Seems like he's a durable guy though. Probably not on Ward's level, which I guess is the way for Ward to go on his way to the Krusher.

Stablemate: Fighters who train at the same gym or under the banner of the same promoter.

... So Barrera is a stablemate of Golovkin and Kovalev as well...

Thats obviously the plan. Ward is trying to make easy money, not get in an actual fight and have to work for it.

Yeah and after the Lacy fight, Lacy was b1thcin saying that the guy he fought could not have possibly been the same guy from the weigh-in. Honestly if you were to look at the pic from the weigh-in and look at the fight you might agree with Lacy. To me SB cuts a lot of weight. He's definitely a big LHW.
