Santa Cruz had now many dreadful fights before he was put in the ring with Mares? Jacobs fighting Quillen after how many bum of the month fights? Broner fought nothing but bums since Maidana fight. Again why did these fights need 4-5 mismatches and years to go by before they were made? Haymon putting his top fighters against each other is rare and if it does its usually a few years too late. I'll say it again say what you want about arum but he has proven he will put his top guys in together and is not going to wait 3 years fighting mismatches like we see with thurman, 5 straight mismatches like we see out of khan. And Jacobs had 3 years mismatches before we finally saw him with quillin. People were dogging Santa Cruz for years for who he was facing. You can't compare that to Pacquiao fighting 1 mismatch with Algeri in between fights with Bradley and Mayweather 2 top 10 p4p guys.

Example fans are fine with Canelo fighting Kirkland in between tough fights with Lara and cotto. Fans are not fine with khan fighting 5 straight mismatches which is what Haymon does despite having numerous better fighters at 140 and 147 waiting years for 1 tough fight for khan.

I agree with this. It takes 3-5 mismatches before a Haymon top fighter is pitted against another. Like in chess, the winner in the last match would obliterate all the other previous mismatches. So now Haymon fans only mention the latest fights between top fighters forgetting the previous mismatches. In general, Haymon fighters are the most over-protected fighters in the history of the sport.

WTF? the man literally waited 5 years for SRL/Hagler, after staging a fake in ring announcement wouldn't make Floyd/odh, never made Juanma/Gamboa, and brought the term "marinate" in the sports lexicon.

OK, just totally ignore the link. Oscar his promoter was onboard, Haymon his adviser was onboard, and Freddie Roach was and still wants Garcia for Pacquiao! Only one problem: ARUM!

Boxing promoter Bob Arum maintained that he doesn’t favor Danny Garcia as a possible opponent for Manny Pacquiao.

The Top Rank Inc. CEO explained that Garcia, the current junior welterweight king, might not even get past Chris Algieri, who is scheduled for a 12-round joust with Pacquiao.

“I don't think Danny Garcia if he fought Algieri today would have much of a chance,” Arum said in an interview with Radio Rahim. “I mean Algieri is a real great athlete.”

There have been talks of a possible match-up between Pacquiao and Garcia before the Algieri fight was set up.

“We were gonna make Pacquiao-Provodnikov, but once Algieri licked him (Provodnikov), then we figured Algieri has enough of a back story to make this fight very interesting,” he said.

Hall-of-Fame trainer Freddie Roach earlier said the unbeaten Garcia will be a perfect opponent for Pacquiao once the Filipino steps down to the junior welterweight division.

The 26-year-old Garcia has a record of 29 wins with no loss, with 17 of his victories coming by knockout. He currently holds the WBC, WBA and RING light-welterweight titles.

I wouldn't call Porter a bum. If Manny can fight Algieri, why can't Khan? Canelo did fight Lara, another Haymon guy. Canelo did fight Trout, another Haymon guy. Canelo did fight Floyd, another Haymon guy. Has Canelo fought an Arum guy? Wasn't Jacobs making his way back from cancer? Arum called for a boycott of Floyd vs. Maidana 1, because he thought it was a lopsided fight, then chose Algieri for Manny. Why has Loma fought Gary Russell Jr., another Haymon guy, but not Walters, an Arum guy? By the way, Spike TV is "Network of the Year." Who did that?

So cotto don't count as a top rank guy even though the ground work of the deal was done by top rank before cotto bounced refusing to respond to top rank and signed to roc nation. Top rank mapped out the road map for cotto to fight canelo.

Point is canelo fights everyone regardless the promoter and when he does have a mismatch it's 1 fight in between tough fights. Now Jacobs who was fighting for years didn't fight quillin or any other too guy because he was worried about cancer that he already beat years before? If he was sick he wouldn't be fighting at all. Take a bow for the lamest defense of haymon duck duck goose. The reason he needed 3 years of bums and mismatch after mismatch is because haymon not cancer and there are too many examples of haymon fighters who fight bums after bums not just 1 stay busy fight in between tough fights. Stop bringing up algeri one mismatched sandwiched between 2 tough fights for manny. Haymon fighters facing 4 bums before 1 tough fight that's why haymon gets killed. Exactly. These haymon nut huggers naming a few fights ignoring that even the guys they named fought like 2-3 years of mismatches before that 1 single fight that's why you can't compare it to your normal fighter having a mismatch stay busy fight. And it's no longer a stay busy fight when you string 4-5 of them in a row. Thurman won the interim belt going on 3 years ago and still ain't fought 1 single top ranked welterweight despite the fact that haymon has boat load of welterweights in his own stable. That don't sound wrong to you? Of course it does and that's why haymon gets roasted by fans. Arum if anything puts his top fighters in too many fights together to a fault at times but I will take manny vs Bradley 5 times over Thurman vs collazo type fights haymon keeps making.

You going back 3 decades to bring up a fight that was delayed because of SRL not arum. At that time SRL was big enough to fight whoever he wanted and was the only reason it was delayed as long as it was. That was on him not arum. When was Floyd gonna fight Oscar there was 2 weight classes separating them until the end of Oscars career then he fought him. Only fight you mentioned was juanma who arum delayed and it bit him in the rear the rest of these fights are pure bs and had nothing to do with arum. Now go and tell me why khan and thurman needs 5 mismatches in a row instead of fighting each other or any of the other top fighters haymon has? I don't need to go back 3 decades to being up examples I have ton from right now. Haymon fighters all with the same trend of years of mismatches.
