How long will Deontay Wilder avoid the top heavyweights?

Will Deontay Wilder ever fight someone like Ortiz, Fury, Povetkin, or Joshua?

Or will he continue to take "safe" fights, choosing journeyman opponents like Molina and DuHaupas, or fringe contenders like Szpilka who are not in the top ten?

Wilder is age 30 now. It's time for him to grow up.

Fury, yes. The other guys, I don't think so until he is the unified champ, if that ever happens.

IMO he will delay as much as possible but the nature of HWT will force him to fight these guys eventually.

If he ducks Povektin after Szpilka then I will not support him anymore....

If Wilder gets past his next opponent the Povetkin fight will happen as long as Povetkin doesn't delay the fight again.

Ortiz has chosen to go the WBA route so he'll get Fury/Klitschko winner before he fights Wilder. Unless Wilder can get past his next two opponents and fight for a unification first.

Joshua said he's 12-18 months away before he's ready for a big fight. He's ranked #2 by the WBC so if Wilder gets past Povetkin in April/May that'll put him on track to fight Wilder in 16 months.

Wilder would be fighting Povetkin this January if Povetkin didn't choose to fight Wach.

i'm thinking his next step will be to unify with charles martin rather than face povetkin

Povetkin seems to be the one who keeps pushing the fight back

Why were you so high on Szpilka until Wilder signed to fight him?

I was never "so high" on Szpilka, especially after he was KOed by Jennings.
