Take a look at the list of former and current IBO champions, it's much more credible than the WBC.

It's GGG but shouldn't it be the guy that won the belt in the ring and not the guy elevated to champ from interim champ?

Not only was he elevated from interim champ to regular champ, he was also elevated from regular champ to super champ. He did not earn either distinction in the ring. In essence, he won the super title vs. Nilson Julio Tapia.

Par of the course for the bravest man in boxing, Gennady Golovkin.

Well how was he supposed to beat Sturm in the ring?

Would be nice if it was that easy for us all.

True, STurm didn't fight him. STill doesn't change the fact he didn't win the belt in the ring.

And for what reasons was he elevated? Just for the hell of it or because literally two guys refused to fight him?

A win in the ring is always more credible than being elevated to champion in a boardroom.

For all we know, GGG could've blown Mendoza and got elevated to champ as a result.

you realize that you are trying to make a distinction based solely on what the wretched WBA calls its multiple titles.

Bottom line is BOTH GGG and Jacobs won vacant titles, while at the same time another WBA "champion" was seated above them. For GGG it was Sturm, and for Jacobs it was GGG.

But keep trying to tell yourself there is a difference.
