I suspect it won't matter how aggressive this guy gets. The Glazkov side will win the bid cuz he's the name in this situation & PBC hasn't really invested much in Charles Martin so this is a no lose situation for them. I can't see anyone on the PBC side throwing much money at this. Its the HW paper title fight no one cares about.

I'm sure PBC will take advantage of it if they happen to win the fight (& I tend to favor Martin myself, Glazkov gots 2 L's in my record book oddly enough to PBC fighters).

There are a lot of mind games that go into a purse bid. We're talking about a recognized world heavyweight title. That belt is worth a lot of money. Wasn't that long ago Don King paid ONE MILLION DOLLARS to Lennox Lewis to give up the belt so that he could go crown a "paper champion" as you and a few internet nerds might say.

But in the real world, a world heavyweight title = $ and I would be shocked if Haymon didn't do everything possible to give his guy the best chance of winning and the best way to do that is to win the purse bid.

If you don't think Martin has a much better shot of winning on a PBC show than he does fighting in Russia, you don't understand the tricks of the trade.

Well sure I got all that (If Martin beats Glazkov in Russia he'll probably get hit for a dirty test anyway lol), but Martin was lined up as the B side vs f#cking Breazeale until a few days ago. It seems like PBC ain't thinking about this cat that much. And I think Glazkov is already a guy people consider top 10 legit for the most part. There is just going to be more money that Glazkov's side is willing to put in on this than Martin's I feel. Maybe Haymon is willing to pay for any title fight, but sometimes I think you gotta pick your battles & I tend to think this will be one of those times. We'll see, soon by the sounds of it.
