Didn't Canelo claim he's ready to fight him immediately after the Cotto fight? What happened to his promise? I assume his tongue was bigger than his heart. Imagine the great Erik Morales would've pulled such a stunt. I really can't.
I hope Mr. "I was born ready" is a man of his word and a true Mexican warrior like I, and many other fans, always thought he is. Let's go Canelo. Don't let the fans down.

If they agree to let an interim fight happen and then come back to the issue afterwards, that's his own damn fault. Just like if he agreed to receive his step aside money after the fight happened.

This is all what I think, so nothing really official
Not if he agrees for Canelo to take an interim before a proposed fight. If the challenger comes to an agreement with the title holder and the organization allows it, then it'll happen. So if they believe they'll get a fight in September, whether they have an agreement in principle or not, if GGG and team are OK with it then Canelo keeps the title while he does his interim fight.

I don't think Golovkin will take a pure 'step aside' fee - that has left some bad taste in his mouth.
I think there's a written, contractual agreement that lets Canelo fight a voluntary in May, but then he must fight GGG in Sept.
That way Golovkin gets a big fight, a shot at another title at the cost of ~5 months. Hell, he may even get a better CW for allowing Canelo to marinade.
