why does NSB care so much about Rick Glaser and actually hold his word as being something credible? He's an ex used car salesman, ex-fraud, a don king groupie and 100% complete & utter scumbag. He always posts random PPV numbers that his "source" tells him after every big PPV (always very low numbers), it never fails.

To show just how much I agree with you, I'll go even further. I do not ever foresee Golovkin becoming more popular than Canelo. He's much older and is of the wrong nationality. His only chance of eclipsing Canelo is becoming a crossover star, and I don't see that happening.

My whole argument was that comparing Cotto/Canelo to GGG's PPV is a trash comparison, you might as well compare Floyd/Canelo to GGG/DL.

You think that Golovkin is in no position to reject 155. I disagree. If Canelo tells him "155, 80/20, and in a year", I fully expect Golovkin to tell Canelo to go screw himself. If Canelo says 158 this May and Golovkin rejects him, I'll be pretty pissed.
ok. GGG would be ****** to tell him no. The reality is 20% of a Canelo fight is more than he will get ANYWHERE else. Canelo isn't Floyd or Manny right now, but he is the biggest payday in the sport.

Remember this, Manny, much more popular and backed by far more powerful people said no and didn't get the fight for 5 years. He was making 10x what GGG is so he could say no.

Canelo, much more popular than GGG as you said, couldn't say no to Floyd at 152.

      Just consider these facts.

Come on Natas-he said Floyd sold less than what was reported so NSB gave him instant credibility.

Well my source told me it was 650,000 buys also. That is two separate sources. I am not sure who Glaser's source is, but my source has it in writing.

          My source is Rick

Probably, but not by much. My first post had the math. Canelo's biggest payday is 5-6.5m for Cotto. In order for Golovkin to make the same amount of money as he got for Lemieux, the total purse would need to be $10m for 2 of them (8m Canelo, 2m Golovkin). Cotto/Canelo purse was 20m, we can agree Canelo/GGG wont reach those levels. The best he can hope for is about half that - which would work out to $15m total, 12m Canelo and 3m Golovkin.

Is an extra mill worth dealing with Canelo bull*****? I would guess no, he'll tell him to vacate the belt and then try to arrange a fight with Canelo later.

Remember this, Manny, much more popular and backed by far more powerful people said no and didn't get the fight for 5 years. He was making 10x what GGG is so he could say no.
Not sure what Floyd has to do with this convo? Floyd's retired and is not gonna fight anyone.

Canelo, much more popular than GGG as you said, couldn't say no to Floyd at 152.

Ooooh no. NOT the same. Canelo's more popular NOW. Canelo's fight vs Lara did 300k, AFTER he was on Floyd's card. Was he more popular in 2013 than Golovkin is in 2015? Probably, but it wasn't by much.

He also got $5-6m for a 2 lb CW from Floyd, while Golovkin would be getting ~3m for a 5 lb CW. Canelo also fought below 152 for years and is much younger.

I know a certain writer reported a 900,000 PPV buy figure, the same reporter that wrote that GGG - Lemieux broke 150,000 buys, when in fact that fight in actuality did 97,000 buys. Who is feeding the writer tainted info, but lots of great food!!!"

cant wait for the hate squad to show up and discredit these numbers.

but but but but 97k doe

(FYI, I still believe the 900k+ number, but this still is going to be alot of fun)
where's glaser getting his numbers from? his a match maker, not really involved in the ppv/network side of things.

The 2 biggest names in boxing are doing lower numbers than Rousey and Holm.

                  Sad days.

If ones only concern is MONEY, then yes, thats accurate. But, and I know this is a crazy concept, some people have lines they wont cross, regardless of the reward. If Canelo offered GGG a 50-50 split if GGG licked Canelos balls, would GGG be ****** top say no? Not everyone flips into "**********" mode the second money is discussed. The simple truth is that considering where GGG came from, he is already far richer than he ever could have imagined, and with his purses now likely to stay well over $1 million a fight, he's in the top 20 earners in the entire sport. Its not like he's eating ramen noodles in a pup tent begging for crumbs

Might he sell out his principles completely just for the $$$? maybe

Might he compromise a little to help expand his exposure? maybe

Might he stand firm on his principles, paycheck be damned? maybe

We dont know yet what he might do. We should know though in the next week or so......

whichever way he goes, it would be silly to call him "******"
