So for example:
1) Fury would feint...something we don't see much of anymore. Many of these feints were when Vlad would be setting. This had the result of stopping Vlad from throwing his jab, or, of not getting his timing correct.
2) Distance. Fury kept out of range and constantly moved away from Vlad's jab hand.
3) another skill set: Fury was not afraid to fight off the back leg and transfer weight into his jab on the strike. Most heavyweights now do little more than square up. Fury gave vlad a profile view with his hand down ready to counter so that the minute Vlad missed he could be countered over the lead hand.
4) inside fighting. Instead of constantly going back, fury would go into Klitschko...of course Klitschko, not knowing how to fight inside would immediately clinch. Thus shutting Vlad down by going in to him. Once inside fury would strike Vlad on the lats and ribs, scoring points and shutting down his speed....those big muscles are a veritable road map to a guy who is an accurate puncher.
5) fury always was moving and moving into a semi circle, so there was never a squared up target, stationary for Vlad to hit.
Iron Dan Hanza mentioned a good one in another thread: Fury had the distance to react to Vlad's telegraphed leaping left hook. He also was not afraid to go foward to avoid it I would add.
Anyone else?
