Comments Thread For: Chavez Jr. Passes on Roach, Will Remain With Garcia

krikya360.com reported two weeks ago that former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (49-2-1, 32KOs) was very interested in reunited with his former trainer Freddie Roach.

Chavez Jr. parted ways with Roach last year. The breakup happened not long after the boxer had left Top Rank and signed with manager/adviser Al Haymon.

He worked earlier this year with Joe Goossen for one fight and then hired Robert Garcia to train him for his July decision victory over Marco Reyes.

I wonder how Robert Garcia feels. Seems like he was Chavez' second choice.

So the Badou Jack fight is happening?

I wish Chavez took some more tune-ups. He's probably going to get busted up and mocked even more.

I really can't believe he will fight Badou Jack but it would be good for a laugh. Nothing funnier than watching Jr getting his ass handed to him. But honestly he's probably just throwing names out there thinking it makes him look good...and then he'll fight some useless bum. We've seen this tack before.

Chavez Jr. better start passing on the extra meals and dedicate himself to the sport of boxing.

Roach honestly is overrated..he can't teach defense and never has any plans to adjust when things get rough. He always looks lost when his fighters are losing and if they cant land a game changing punch it is just over and he just acts like they won after the fight.
