What they really need to do is use their money to sign young talent but their strategy has been horrible since they started.
The problem with picking up too much young talent is it takes years to develop & cash in on them. In the meantime its not a bad idea to have some name guys who you can have big fights with now, get eyes on you & to attract more young talent in the future.
RN came into boxing with a bigger bankroll than cats usually have so were 100% fine with throwing a bunch of money out there up front. Believe RN tried to make deals with half of the most known Haymon unpromoted fighters upon entering the game. Thats not no normal ****. They were there to make moves & getting Ward, Cotto & now Rigo under their banner in their first year in the game is some impressive ****. Thats potentially a full HBO roster right there (idk if Rigo is gonna be a HBO guy again, but I think there are HBO caliber fights to make with him involved). Who signs 3 HBO cailber guys in 1 year in general let along their first year. These guys are doing more than just trying to make a profit they are trying to show they are players in the game out the gate.
