Both of those guys have P4P #1 potential. Idk that you could ever suggest those are bad investments from either the media & fan attention you get from having those guys on your roster & the big fights those guys can have.

What they really need to do is use their money to sign young talent but their strategy has been horrible since they started.
They got young talent. Dusty Harrison is one of the top prospects no one really talks about yet & I think he's 20, 21 still & former TMT member Luis Arias who was a top amateur led their non-brand name yet brigade.

The problem with picking up too much young talent is it takes years to develop & cash in on them. In the meantime its not a bad idea to have some name guys who you can have big fights with now, get eyes on you & to attract more young talent in the future.

RN came into boxing with a bigger bankroll than cats usually have so were 100% fine with throwing a bunch of money out there up front. Believe RN tried to make deals with half of the most known Haymon unpromoted fighters upon entering the game. Thats not no normal ****. They were there to make moves & getting Ward, Cotto & now Rigo under their banner in their first year in the game is some impressive ****. Thats potentially a full HBO roster right there (idk if Rigo is gonna be a HBO guy again, but I think there are HBO caliber fights to make with him involved). Who signs 3 HBO cailber guys in 1 year in general let along their first year. These guys are doing more than just trying to make a profit they are trying to show they are players in the game out the gate.

I don't think Cotto is done in terms of ability, but yeah, who do I really want to see him fight now, and what's at stake? Rigondeaux seems so totally oblivious to the fact boxing is a spectator sport, it's hard to imagine him headlining any fight, even a Lomachenko bout, at best that's going straight to Boxing After Dark in some small auditorium somewhere.
Can they turn a profit with Ward figting 3 tune-ups in Oakland before the Kovalev fight? The Kovalev fight is gonna be in Vegas and on PPV. I'll buy it because I think it's PPV worthy but in the meantime can Main Events and RNS do enough to get these two guys known? Rigo really disappointed me. I understand he was out 11 months and took the fight on a weeks notice but damn that was hard to watch. He has to fight Loma next. Cotto is relegated to gatekeeper status now. He has nothing to attract a junior middleweight unless they're paying a lot of money.

I mean you said it right here. What was to be expected with a couple weeks notice. This fight shouldn't even have been on the PPV card is part of the issue. I mean I guess you kinda gotta throw it on there after the one fight goes down, but I can't judge Rigo too harshly on RN's & HBO's bad decision in throwing him on a PPV after almost a year off & basically 2 wks give or take notice. I'm just worried about buying some flashy new gold shoes for the presser if I'm him. If I was RN I'd throw him on all the Spanish media talking mad **** & making fights with Spanish speaking cats all day (except those big fights he can get with non-Spanish speaking cats). Turn Rigo into a poormans Floyd.

Unfortunately the average hardcore boxing fan have lil appreciate for pure high level boxing with a low possibility for destruction & the casual fans have no interest in that so the best course of action with Rigo is to make him a bad guy who people wanna see & who come to watch lose. Jack Johnson, Ali & Floyd were geniuses with that ****. RN & Rigo should take notes.

Gatekeeper lol. Thats crazy. Delvin Rodriguez is a gate keeper. Cotto is far from that. Cotto is a name guy still who can make some $$$ & make some money for his opponent & RN.

I wouldn't mind seeing him face Andy Lee (or BJS) next at 160 or 155 or 158 or w/e lol next in a title fight in June in NY & I think he'd have a good shot of winning that fight & staying in the 160 elite (& he's still in that elite cuz losing a way closer decision than the judges had it don't remove you from the elite in a division). After that I think he closes the show on his career vs GGG who might be worth it finally if he can keep growing over the next year.

Yea that's what I'm saying. RNS is going to have to pay guys a lot of money to fight Cotto. He doesn't have a belt, he's coming off a loss, they know he's past prime, they gain nothing from beating him but a good payday. He's no gonna headline another PPV fight so can RNS pay the money it takes to get a guy in the ring with him and pay Cotto his purse and make a profit? A win against Cotto does nothing for these young guys unless it's a good payday.

On another note watch how many guys come outta the woodwork claiming Canelo is ducking them because they want a good payday. Now that he's the top draw everybody wants a payday from him. They did the same thing to Floyd after he beat De La Hoya. I wish GGG fans would understand this. Nobody is ducking GGG, the reward aint worth the risk. You pay guys $100,000 and you gonna get Willie Monroe Jr.

Wut!?!?! Cotto on your resume is huge. Cotto on Canelo's resume is huge today ffs. I think you got a post-big fight is over, extreme opinions thing going on. Its like some post-breakup **** lol.

Cotto is arguable still the best big name, big money, most winnable fight anyone could get right now. And thats right now the day after losing a decision to Canelo.

Few fans of anyone & no fanboys of a guy are gonna be understanding of the $ implications with a decision to fight a guy. Its all after school fight, you scared, type **** to them. Doesn't matter if a notable guy can get $250k to fight a guy with baby arm & only get $250k to fight their growing or big name guy you are still ducking their guy lol.

Rigo was trash. This was his time to shine and he stunk up the joint.

Ward is still doing tune-ups. I can't wait for the Kovalev fight but in the meantime they're gonna have to pay him a lot of money while he fights tune-ups.

They invested a lot of money into these three fighters and I don't see how they'll get their money back.

RN will not last at this rate, Ward and Rigo are not going to turn a profit or even help them break even. I like Ward and i like Rigo, but these guys are considered boring, one lacks the personality, the other can't speak English.

RN more than likely took a huge loss on the Cotto deal, they were probably banking on a Canelo rematch, Floyd rematch or a showdown with Triple G.

Rigo and Ward's TV friendly style will save them.

Feel free to go into the accounting details of RN fighters deals & the income they are getting if you got some sort of inside info.

I definitely don't think this $10M to Rigo deal is legit. I think promoters can only sign guys for 3 years or something like that according to the MAA. There is no way Rigo is getting $3.3M a year or I should say there is no way he's being guaranteed $3.3M a year I promise you that. Maybe if a bunch of **** goes well he has the potential to get $10M total at best, but with the reality of what he can do at 122 or 126 that seems very rose colored glasses-ish.
