povetkin beats wilder
wilder beats fury
fury beats povetkin.
i really feel this way about each fight. they're also close fights. fury might be too experienced for wilder. povetkin might knock out fury, or get knocked out by wilder.
the division is almost interesting now that klitschko's off the throne. almost. it's probably still going to produce a lot of the ugly fights that we are used to. don't expect these guys to get on their toes and box, or throw combinations all of a sudden because wladimir is done. these guys don't know how to fight any other way when they're not able to land cleanly, and they don't have the talent or the conditioning to make things happen against a big opponent who isn't willing to take risks.
lennox lewis was the last great heavyweight. let's be realistic about klitschko. he had a great career. he really wasn't a great fighter. at his peak he was just "very good." look at what he had to do to win! he had an awful style by the end, and he fought mostly crap for competition.
a lot of credit goes to the guy for being champion for a decade. he's still f#cking wladimir klitschko. i watched hiim fight. dominance doesn't inherently equal greatness.
