Comments Thread For: Andre Ward: They Pressure Me To Move Up, Not Others

Earlier this week, soon to be light heavyweight contender Andre Ward (28-0, 15KOs) officially withdrew from a scheduled slot as the co-featured attraction to the Miguel Cotto vs. Saul Alvarez HBO Pay-Per-View undercard. Ward suffered a knee injury during training camp.

Ward is regarded as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the sport, but his inactivity is killing his momentum. He last fought June, where he stopped overmatched Paul Smith - and it was Ward's first bout since the fall of 2013.

Man, I can't stay quiet any longer on this: Ward, STFU and box. Seriously, just box, that's your job, it's how you get paid. You are turning into a whiny little b*tch, and it's a shame because you're truly talented. But I just want to see you box, not talk.

This dude so delusional. What does he expect? he wants to fight bums the rest of his career and still be called p4p#1 and be offered top dollar aswell and still have all the fans give him a standing ovations with the baddest hoes throwing rose pedals at his feet where ever he walks?

lmfao dude is such a cry baby, basically what is saying is why they want me to fight tough fights.

Playing the victim card. "pressuring me to move up". Shouldn't you want to move up for yourself, and become a 2-division champion by now? You defeated the Light-Heavyweight Champion at that time in Chad Dawson by having him come down in weight. That happened almost half a decade ago.

And now he wants to get a up-and-come 160 pounder to move up for him, even though he isn't even Champion yet. The most pathetic P4P talent of all time.

And another thing, if you're considered the potential P4P#1, then there is no such thing as too tough of competition. That's because YOU'RE supposed to be the bad ass in the ring, not the other guys. So again, you're just whining and making yourself look bad.

We all know the powers that be wanted him as far away from their next "superstar" as possible.

Time to move on and look forward to a real fan's fight - Ward vs Kovalev.

Ward is all about comfort zones. He always has been.

-Super six his fights had to be in his home town.
-He always wanted other fighters to come to him. GGG move up, Dawson move down, nothing else mattered, even when his own division was cleaned out.
-All fighters had to come to him looking for a fight. He rejected many himself and blamed it on his squabble with his promoter. The fighters he picked himself, were kinda laughable.

Simply put, he is hard to deal with. His moaning in this article tells me he is not happy at all going to 175 so we may see a change in plans.
