Andre Ward says he could move up to 175 soon

By Dan Ambrose: WBA/WBC super middleweight champion Andre Ward revealed that he's considering a move up to light heavyweight real soon. He feels that it’s tough for him to get big fights at super middleweight now, and will be speaking to his team about a move up in weight to 175.

Ward told Jim Lampley on his HBO Fight Game show last Saturday night "I don't think so [getting a fight with Sergio Martinez] for the moment due to the weight difference and size difference. All the talk from the Martinez camp is that Ward has to come down to 160. I think they mentioned 164. But I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to be at super middleweight. For me to get down to 160 or 164, I wouldn't be any good at it. It wouldn't be good for my career. So at the moment I don’t realistically think that fight [against Sergio Martinez] is going to be made. I think I would be very strong at the weight [175]. I'm not even the biggest super middleweight, so I know the fighters at light heavyweight would be even bigger. But I know the ideal situation is to go to 175 and not come back down. There's not a lot of options at 168. So in the coming weeks my team and I need to put our heads together and get creative in terms of what's going to be next."

wait, so he's moving up because some nerds on the net are telling him to? he could stay at 168 and fight degale, jack and bute and i wouldn't care less. don't let nobody pressure you to do a damn thing. seems to me ward is easily affected by chatter on the net. just like canelo. if he don't wanna be 175 then go back to SMW and clean it out again. i just wanna see ward take on top opposition again, at whatever weight.

The truth is he can't get DeGale, Jack or Bute because of the current "promotional wars"...

Ward needs to sell his soul to the Illuminati. All this "being a good person" shiz isn't/hasn't worked for him.Maybe Ward should slap his local vicar, tell god he's a **** or something. The millions will roll in then.

You defeated the Light-Heavyweight Champion at that time in Chad Dawson by having him come down in weight. That happened almost half a decade ago.

And now he wants to get a up-and-come 160 pounder to move up for him, even though he isn't even Champion yet. The most pathetic P4P talent of all time.
I don't know how many times this lie will be told. Dawson offered the weight, and signed the contract after the catchweight was denied. If he didn't want to fight at 168, no one would have blamed him, but he went there of his own volition anyway.
