One of the biggest reasons you can't see the fight you want to see is Ward refuses to be active and fight decent opponents. Andre Ward is the one who wrecked his own career by being a dumb-ass diva. If he kept fighting after Dawson, Ward/Golovkin would've been a real ppv fight by now.

But instead Ward keeps trying to find ways to take a step backwards by keeping inactive and looking to fights guys who aren't even top 15 SMW's. I agree 100% that Golovkin doesn't want to fight Ward right now. This March if either of these two guys genuinely wanted to fight one another, then they had the opportunity to make the fight. But neither of them even tried!!
I must say that I've gained a lot more respect for u from this particular post right here . So happy to hear a GGG fan admit that GGG is the one who doesn't wanna fight Ward right now . Most silly GGG fans usually just spin the narrative and say Ward is avoiding him .

I totally agree with your 1st paragraph when u say that that outside of not wanting to fight Ward there is no other criticism that he deserves , and I've always maintained that GGG is too good and too strong for 160 and has already beatin the best there (Leme and Murray)

Stay busy fights. He needs one between now and Cotto/Canelo, hopefully Lara.

He wants to unify the belts, he has no need to move up to fight Ward right now.

This whole, he has to move up nonsense by the fans is a new thing, you guys are spoiled from Pac and Floyd doing it.

When guys like Kostya Tszyu or Bernard Hopkins dominated there division for years and unified the titles, we praised them for it, and called them some of the best ever.

Now fans cry that a fighter is "ducking" an opponent not even in the same division. It shows a complete lack of understanding of the sport by this generations fans.

But at the end of the day we need not look at what Cans Ward may be attempting to line up , rather we should be looking at what cans he actually fought . He only fought one , Smith . Rodriguez was a top contender . So at the end of the day GGG has fought a lot of Cans while Ward has only fought 1

If La Bomba is your baseline, then Golovkin hasn't fought someone below that level since Adama and Ishida. Rubio, Stevens, Monroe were every bit as qualified as Rodriguez. Even then, Adama and Ishida were off-tv stay busy fights to keep his name relevant in the European market.

James Toney used to take fights like that too between his big fights, it keeps a fighter sharp. Golovkins stays very active relative to Ward. There's absolutely no reason Andre couldn't have fought 3 guys like Paul Smith between now and last March when he signed with RN and he would've had himself in position for a more meaningful fight right now. He could've accepted short money to make those fights happen and he would've benefited immensely from the momentum.

There appears to be a ring of truth to what Andre Ward is saying. I might be wrong here, but it does seem that in recent years, HBO has been attempting to build stars surrounding their Eastern European bloc of fighters: Such as Golovkin, Kovalev, the Klitschkos and more recently Vasyl Lomachenko. For the exception of Ginger Alvarez there is not another North American fighter in their promotional mix to help build a fan base around.

"Gennady “GGG” Golovkin may be back in the ring as early as February, with suggestions coming from his camp that he could go up against middleweight Tureano Johnson"

Man the MW Division is GARBAGE!!!

The interest in black fighters has plummeted over the years.

Not one can really figure out why, most believe they just have more interest in basketball & football.

But it's def a trend HBO has noticed and has made efforts to build fighters who aren't black.

It's why IMO, Haymon's PBC is destined to fail. Unless Wilder becomes great, Floyd will be the last black fighter that will sell for a long time IMO.

Johnson is a good fighter, I'm assuming you can't tell the difference between skill and non skill and just use boxrec to judge opponents.

No shame in Johnsok being one of 3 fights next year. He's the mandatory and earned his shot.
