He's totally right in his critique of the article's grammar. I notice that a lot too. You are the one who needs to polish on your grammar and comprehension.

"You have a negative effect on me" is correct.
"You have a negative affect on me" is NOT.

Nothing ambiguous about it at all. Relax and go back to grammar class, bro!
    You better consult your dictionary.

While either would be acceptable, it is something a little ambiguous.

Actually, affect is better. Effect refers to the more concrete, whereas affect is more like 'influence'. Strictly speaking, effect is more of a scientific term, used in more clear cut and provable circumstance.

Hence, 'the effect of the chemical reaction.' It would be quite grammatically wrong to say 'you have a negative effect on me'.

In the case of the things you cite in your unnecessary tirade, either is quite acceptable.

Also no one comes to a boxing forum to read long essays. It took my like twenty years on my phone to delete all that stuff you wrote, whatever it was.

Even Steve Kim won't agree with you soon. I don't know if he knows it. It could just be a long habit of misuse on his part.

I also encounter a lot of misuse when it comes to "then" and "than." I find these in some articles here, within article source quotations, as well as with some members on this site.

Mostly I don't care if I can understand them.

Did you consult your dictionary yet?

Also, care to explain to me the difference between 'then' and 'than', as you perceive it?

That fight got the sport in total attention, everyone was tuned in and Floyd Mayweather decided to put on the worst performance of all time for PPV performance he barely landed anything clean, he clinched and ran all the while getting paid his career highest payday he decided to not get fans talking in excitement about the sport after that event was done he instead aimed to get people saying UFC is better and boxing is dead and he exceeded in that, Floyd is bad for boxing and he would never have been a champion in the past eras, people pay to be entertained not to be bored.
I made the mistake of buying some memorabilia for this fight hoping it would go down in history as one of the biggest fights ever. I sorely was disappointed and have since resold the memorabilia for a lot less because it gave me the ****s looking at it. At least Manny came to fight and was willing to trade. I watched it with friends who were casual fans and they walked away scratching there heads thinking what was all that about!

Sure, I will explain to you briefly. The rest, you go to your English dictionary.

You use "then" as a transitive, to get from one point to another. For example, "I will stop by Ali's and then come over there." You use "than" as a comparative, to compare two things or people--as in "Ali was more skillful than Foreman in Africa."

                  Get it?

He looked clueless and threw less punches than Floyd. Marcos Maidana put up a much better fight.
