Comments Thread For: De La Hoya: The 5/2 Dud Will Help Cotto-Canelo PPV

There are those who believe that the disappointing nature of the May 2nd bout between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao - which quite frankly over-promised and under-delivered - has had a negative affect on the rest of boxing as it relates to the pay-per-view aspect of the business.

Guess we'll see if it helps or hurts....
When he fought Kirkland, a lot of people thought it helped after he got that 2+ M rating

God the Golden Boy hates Money and I mean with a passion.

The 5/2 ****** but it was a financial success...you can never take that away from the fight.

That fight was a huge mismatch. The bookies had it like 1.04, meaning you must bet 100 on GGG to make 4 bucks. They tried to sell it based on their respective KO percentages. Didn't work.

This is a much better fight.

But I get that Limeux was a Golden Boy fighter, so yeah who knows. You could have some type of point.

BS Scene management, can we combine the daily salty DLH quotes with the daily "Mayweather and/or Pacquiao are ducking me" quotes from amir into one "article" ?

May vs Pac has destroyed boxing's ability to make money.
