How does ya tv station set up go over there?

Read previous post about itv and some other stuff but im lost
Roughly 60 free channels. Most watched are BBC1 & ITV (see below), ITV used to be the big boxing channel when the sport was at its height.

The article is talking about putting boxing on BT channels, which you have to pay extra for. PBC on ITV would be ideal and could do really well.

Amir Khan the Bolton puncher ....who is this guy ?
Some of these writers must be pissed when they get on the keyboard or have never watched a fight.

Im not sure how this would work

Would Hearn be willing to put his stars like Brook and Joshua on free tv when they probably are, or at least could, make huge money on Sky? I dont think Hearn would want to do anything that threatens his monopoly at Sky Sports

What fighters are we going to see on 'free tv'? Itd really have to be on BBC/iTV for it to have any impact. Id like to see Warren and Boxnations response to it.

People barely care for the naff domestic level matchups on Boxnation and they are usually more hardcore boxing fans. I dont think it makes much sense

Interesting. I think it's great that he's gonna be doing UK fights. Maybe we'll see more UK fighters on pbc shows here in the states

The main two are Sky (they show all the Hearn fights) and Boxnation (all the Warren fights). Normally the US fights are split between them.

In terms of free TV, BBC used to show fights but didn't spend much money. They had Haye and Froch when they were prospects but haven't shown any pro boxing in years. ITV used to show a lot of stuff in the 90s but then stopped. They showed Calzaghe-Lacy and Frampton's fights but not much else in recent years. Channel 5 shows domestic fights sometimes.

The article mentions BTSports. They don't show boxing at the moment but have spent a lot of football. Maybe they have the cash to outbid the others if Haymon in looking for a long-term deal. Hopefully it'll be on free TV but I doubt it, the free TV channels don't seem as interested in boxing as they were 20-30 years ago sadly.

Would be great imo if he gets the BT for boxing and then later on can get the ITV as well

Personally javi ...I think we could be looking at sky sports and haymon involved with that.....you only have to look at the froch and groves fight to see the potential of really huge future PPV fights.... I can see at least 4 that can be made...... Brook vs Khan PPV wilder vs Joshua PPV frampton or quigg vs regondeaux PPV froch vs golovkin huge potential PPV fight....sky have the best promotion and are the leading sport channel in the uk.......hearn is tight with sky and haymon works with Hearn ......there is some big bucks to made if it's through this route.... war golovkn
