it's obvious that the fight to be building up is golovkin-ward, the battle of the B SIDES. whoever wins is the undisputed king of the B SIDE squad.

canelo/cotto fight will do great PPV numbers (proving the golovkin fanatics wrong that said "PPV is a dead market" to excuse those ****ty numbers)and the winner will either A) pursue a rematch (if its a good close fight) or B) lure floyd out of "retirement" for #50.

golovkin can have his belt and go pursue Lee-Saunders or Johnson. what's the point of unifying with no career defining victory?? if ggg wants that he will have to clash with ward for the ultimate showdown of the B SIDES. golovkin beats ward and the hype is official, ward is a tougher and more accomplished foe than cotto or canelo.

what bothers me more is that let's say golovkin does go on to beat cotto/canelo, the critics will not say cotto was too old or canelo was too young like they did when floyd beat both of them. golovkin will get full credit and explode into superstardom.

I dont really care, I figured Canelo would because of his size, but if he doesnt want to fight at that weight, the reality is that it will hurt Lil g more than it would canelo or Cotto. He will have to come down in weight or go up one division if he wants a big fight and if he fights cotto/or canelo they are gonna use his last ppv #'s against him at the negotiations table. Most boxers just move up in weight for better comp, but not lil g. So it hurts him in the end.

what's so great about unifying with no career defining fights? don't you have faith in golovkin beating canelo at 155, because i do. i don't think it'll affect him one bit, judging from his own comments about how easy it will be making 154. do you think 155 is not fair or what, wtf is your issue with that weight? . . also when he beats canelo, can we say canelo was too green? or that only applies to mayweather beating him? why doesnt he at least try to raise the catchweight to 158. rejecting it outright says more about him than canelo.
